Prioritizing our mental health is essential for our overall well-being because it leads to better emotional balance, stronger relationships, resilience, personal growth, and a higher quality of life.

June is Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Awareness Month, with a focus on holding space for those who have PTSD after having been exposed to one or more traumatic events that caused or threatened serious harm or death.

According to PTSD.VA.gov, there are currently, about 12 million people in the United States who have PTSD. Unfortunately, many individuals often turn to substances or addictive behaviors to cope with the distressing symptoms of PTSD.

Fortunately, struggling with PTSD or addiction isn’t the end of our story, though.

We believe in Post-Traumatic Growth and the resilience to overcome and heal from our past traumas. When we experience growth, we learn to accept our past, forgive those who may have hurt us, and begin the process of healing.

By reframing PTSD as a catalyst for change, individuals can harness their experiences to embark on a journey of recovery and self-discovery.

06/04/2024

June is , and in today's fast-paced world entire of instant gratification, men often find themselves caught in the relentless pursuit of chasing short-term pleasures, from alcohol and drugs to unhealthy relationships and risky behaviors.

While society sells the notion that these quick fixes will bring happiness and fulfillment, these fleeting moments of satisfaction can quickly spiral into a cycle of dependency and self-destruction, masking deeper mental health issues that remain unaddressed.

But what if there was a way to break free from this cycle and pave the way for long-term recovery and genuine happiness? Our guest this week, Alex Palmer, joins Dr. Powers, as they normalize the conversation of men's mental health.

At Positive Recovery, we link the best of evidence-based treatment with new, novel interventions that enhance well-being by cultivating its components: positive emotions, engagement, healthy relationships, meaning, and achievement.

The main theory of Positive Recovery is this: Addiction develops when happiness is pursued ineffectively, and recovery takes place when people pursue happiness the right way.

With Positive Recovery, we lead and empower clients as they learn to fulfill their needs in more healthy ways by intervening early and normalizing use instead of using shame.

If you or a loved one are ready to release the shame of addiction and enhance your health and well-being through recovery, we are here to support you. We invite you to call us at 877-697-1383 to start your journey today!

Happy Mother's Day! 💐

At Positive Recovery Centers, we want to celebrate every mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and maternal figure for their constant nurturing care, unconditional love, and tenacious spirit - the ongoing gifts that empower future generations.

Additionally, and with much love, we also want to pause to remember the mothers who are no longer physically with us. Their absence leaves an indelible mark on our hearts, and while we celebrate the joy of motherhood, we also recognize the ache of loss.

Here is a special message of love from Julie DeNofa to those who need it the most this Mother's Day. 💙
