In honor of Father's Day, we want to recognize and appreciate all the amazing fathers and father figures out there! Thank you for being there to provide your love, guidance, and endless wisdom. The world wouldn't be the same without you!

Wendy Merritt is our final nominee for the CNA Awards.

Home health CNAs are the core of personal care for our patients and we wouldn’t have the patient satisfaction that we have right now without the excellent care given by Wendy!

She communicates well with her supervisors about any changes with her patients, always shows empathy and compassion for others, and pays attention to the little details. She goes above and beyond collaborating with the case managers to get patients different resources. Her patients all love her and have mentioned her by name in surveys. Wendy went out for a visit with the Joint Commission and did very well with no deficiencies on her part and the Joint Commission surveyor praised her for her great job with her patient. She is flexible and always willing to help when needed. During the winter weather, Wendy is always making sure her patients are aware and have the things they need. She does the little extra things for the patients if she sees the need and spends extra time just visiting with them and meeting their emotional needs as well.

Kareema Dozier is our ninth nominee for the CNA Awards

Kareema consistently puts 110% into everything she does. Her patients adore her, and she goes above and beyond to make sure their needs are met.

We had an instance in which one of her patients had his son from Ohio down for a brief visit and the patient was very excited for his son to be there. Kareema not only assisted the patient with a bath, but she made sure he was impeccably dressed and waited with him far beyond her scheduled visit time so that she could be there when the son arrived. She worked hard to help the patient stand unsupported so that she could take a picture of the patient and the son together. Neither one of them knew if it could be the last picture they would get together. Kareema was not asked to do this and was not expected to do this, but she offered such a thoughtful sentiment, and this is a great example of the sincere compassion Kareema shows to her patients!

She has a natural ability to provide comfort to patients, making them feel at ease and encouraging them, even when they do not feel up to a visit or bath. She assists other branches regularly and truly exemplifies all the attributes of a phenomenal CNA!

The eighth nominee for the CNA Awards is Claudette Chatman.

Claudette is a seasoned professional who exhibits true passion for every patient and family she touches. She regularly receives praise from her nurses, coworkers, families, and patients. Claudette shows respect for patients and co-workers, practices personal ethics, exemplifies leadership skills, mentors new employees, and consistently exhibits flexibility in her work schedule and duties.

In January, one of our patient's family members called to praise Claudette's sunny, friendly nature and how she was instrumental in helping pave the way for healthy grieving as Claudette shared her own experience with loss with them. They said she was not only appreciated, but they now claimed her as part of their family.

This story can be told countless times as we often hear how "wonderful, professional, and attentive Claudette" was. She has truly had an impact. Claudette's contributions and commitment to personal and professional development have led to the advancement of professional CNAs and improved the quality of direct patient care. She sets the bar high!

Our seventh nominee for the CNA awards is Crystal Williams.

Crystal Williams is an integral part of Traditions Health's Ridgeland, Mississippi branch.

She never complains, is always available to help, and most importantly, has been our CNA leaned on the most to educate new employees during orientation. Crystal is precise, kind, patient, and goes the extra mile for not only our staff but also our patients.

The sixth nominee for the CNA Awards is Carolyn Holiday.

Carolyn has been with Traditions Health for 10 years Her compassion and kindness are just two of the many reasons she was nominated for this award. Patients and family members frequently call the office to let us know that she is phenomenal.

A colleague of Carolyn's remembers a specific example where her compassion and kindness were on display.

"I have a patient that is in a facility that will resist care pretty frequently. Carolyn has come to know her very well. One day, the patient adamantly refused a bath. Carolyn left and waited about 10-15 minutes and decided to go back into the facility to try one more time. This gave the patient time to calm down and she was agreeable to a bath. I feel that most people would have just missed the visit and moved on, but not Carolyn! I know this is a very simple thing she did, but nonetheless shows the type of person she is.
