Tonight, our neighboring galleries at 4411 Montrose open new shows. Join us from 6-8pm to celebrate — Koslov Larsen will remain open extended hours.

Happy Pride from the team at Koslov Larsen! Today we are featuring the work of gallery artist Robert Calafiore. His series of male nudes are a beautiful exploration of intimate relationships and the changes in how we use our bodies in today’s digital world. He employs a hand-built pinhole camera to create these large scale one-of-a-kind c-prints.
Today is the final day of Brenda Biondo’s Sun to Earth! It’s been such a pleasure to have in the gallery. Many thanks to the artist and to everyone who stopped by the gallery to view the show! We’ll see you next Friday for the opening of a new exhibition 🌞
Concentrique is a two-person exhibition featuring the work of Laura Bonnefous and Blandine Soulage. Today we are highlighting Soulage’s Déviation series. Soulage disrupts our spatial understanding, interacting with the environment in strange and playful ways in order to challenge our view of the mundane and open “a poetic breach in reality.” Bodies mold around architecture, becoming sculptural in their own right.
Concentrique will be on view at Koslov Larsen from June 28 – August 23, 2024.
Concentrique is a two-person exhibition featuring the work of Laura Bonnefous and Blandine Soulage. Today we are highlighting Bonnefous’s Kilamba series, photographed in Angola. The works investigate the geopolitical history of the city, a housing development turned ghost town, and the people who inhabit its mostly empty, brightly colored walls.
Concentrique will be on view at Koslov Larsen from June 28 – August 23, 2024.
’s Porcupine Dinner for Two is reminding us that Father’s Day is coming up! Don’t forget to set your tables.
In Prairie Wheels, Brenda Biondo combines a circular photograph of a tumbleweed with scanographs of native grasses or wildflowers likely to be displaced by the invasive species (despite being a classic symbol of the Wild West, tumbleweeds were brought inadvertently to the United States in the 1870s by European settlers). The concentric circles in each finished piece speak to the way introduced and native plants compete for the same surface area while also recognizing the inherent beauty of even compromised landscapes.
Works on view at Koslov Larsen in Houston, TX, May 3 - June 21.
Concentrique, a two-person show by Laura Bonnefous and Blandine Soulage, is a poetic dance of color and movement in a global space. Photographed between France, Japan, and Angola, the images in the show reflect the indelibly urban focus of each photographer, both in the ways that they interpret architecture and the people who define its metaphorical landscape.
Join us on June 28 to celebrate the opening of the exhibition, on view through August 23.

Dreaming of beautiful skies…
Join us tomorrow night from 6-8 to celebrate ’s solo show, Sun to Earth.
Combining several series of Biondo’s works, Sun to Earth introduces new ways of looking at common subjects while challenging viewers’ perception of color and three-dimensional space. The works explored throughout the show focus on atmospheric phenomena and other ephemeral components of the natural world. Unnatural (Texas Tumbleweeds) and Prairie Wheels study the interconnectedness of humans and flora, inspired by the iconic tumbleweed, an invasive species brought inadvertently to the United States in the 1870s by Eastern European settlers. Influenced heavily by James Turrell’s Skyspaces, Perceptual Skies emphasizes the limitless potential of light as a subject and the subjectivity of perception. Biondo states, “Using a visual language that deconstructs the sky portion of the landscape helps articulate questions about how we engage with our environment and the emotional and psychological effects natural light has on humans.” The images in the series follow the formal aesthetics of modern painting, particularly minimalism, while emphasizing the ambiguity between the real and the reproduced.
Sun to Earth will be on view at Koslov Larsen from May 3 – June 21, 2024.

Koslov Larsen presents the work of Claire Rosen in our series of artist highlights for AIPAD’s Photography Show 2024.
Claire Rosen’s series The Fantastical Feasts explores the historical and visual language of the banquet alongside humanity’s relationship with the animal kingdom. Whimsical panoramic photographs depict animals reveling around elaborate banquet tables, inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s masterpiece, The Last Supper and Pierre Subleyras’s classic painting, The Feast in the House of Simon. The feasts invite the viewers to reflect on the nature of society, our relationship and responsibility to the creatures we share the planet with.
Find us at Booth A18 to view framed and unframed selections of Rosen’s work.
Join us tomorrow, April 20 from 12pm to 5pm to celebrate the Houston Art Gallery Association’s Spring Celebration!

Koslov Larsen presents the work of JP Terlizzi in our series of artist highlights for AIPAD’s Photography Show 2024.
JP Terlizzi’s colorful still-life series Creatures of Curiosity, an extension of the acclaimed series The Good Dishes, represents the essence of tradition and the beauty of connections forged through gathering over a shared meal.
“With a special focus on a range of creatures like exotic birds, tigers, cheetahs, snakes, insects, and monkeys, the lavish visual feast of Creatures of Curiosity depicts an eclectic range where the brightness of color, ornate patterns, and unconventional food pairings suggest temptation and indulgence through the richness of nourishment, the opulence of life, and exotic luxuries.”
— JP Terlizzi
Find us at Booth A18 to view framed and unframed selections of Terlizzi’s work from Creatures of Curiosity, The Good Dishes, Garden Symphonies, and Holding Arabesque.
