If your child will be new to Hogg next year (2024-2025), you must complete the enrollment process in person at Hogg with our registrar, even if you have already completed the School Choice application to be in the STEM Magnet program at Hogg Middle School.

Principal Saldaña and our Principal Apprentice Ms. Steward were on the roof of Hogg early this morning to make sure everything was still working ok before our students started arriving.

This is an important update for staff and students at Hogg Middle School from Principal Saldaña.

Our maintenance department has worked tirelessly throughout the day to restore full functionality to our HVAC systems. In addition, Houston ISD has installed portable A/C units across campus. We continue to monitor temperatures within the building.

At this time, classes will resume on campus tomorrow, Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at 8:30 am. The building will open at 8:00 AM, and the first bell will ring at 8:25 AM. Food service and transportation will be available as usual.

Hogg will be open tomorrow!

This is an important update for staff and students at Hogg Middle School from Principal Saldaña.

Our school will be closed on Tuesday, May 21st due to ongoing air conditioning issues. HISD is working diligently with the maintenance department to get our campus back on track. We will continue to provide updates as information becomes available. We intend to return students to class as quickly as possible.

To support our families during this time, we will offer breakfast from 7 AM to 9 AM and lunch from 11 AM to 1 PM. Distributions will take place at the circle drive on Oakridge Street.

Additionally, we will have instructional packets available to keep our students' minds sharp during this absence from class. These packets are optional and will include grade-level appropriate activities and exercises in math, reading, and science to help maintain academic progress. Students who have power can work on their individual assignments on CANVAS.

This is an important update for staff and students at Hogg Middle School from Principal Saldaña.

I am pleased to announce that our school has power. Our cooling systems have been tested, and at this time, we are ready to serve students on Monday May 20th. Classes will resume at our campus as normal on Monday at 8:30am. Food service will be available and transportation services will be provided as usual.

Unfortunately, Hogg is still without power. We are awaiting further guidance from the district and will communicate any updates as soon as possible.

So excited to share that Hogg Middle School received NATIONAL recognition this week at the Magnet Schools of America National Conference in New York City! Principal Saldaña and our Magnet Coordinator Mrs. Graham were thrilled to receive Hogg’s award for becoming a Nationally Certified Magnet School. This was the first year ever that a school from HISD received this award and over 1,700 educators from around the country were in attendance to celebrate! HISD’s Carnegie High School, The Rice School and Parker Elementary also received this recognition!
