New Health Sciences Summer Course Offering! HEAL:119 Introduction to Health & Wellness is a course designed to develop a greater understanding and appreciation of health and well-being, providing the knowledge to apply to your personal lives for improved overall wellness. This course will be offered via Zoom from June 10th-July 26th and taught by Dr. Paul Gerardo. Do not hesitate to register!

Congratulations to the Kinesiology Students who were acknowledged at the 38th Annual Scholar Athlete Celebration! Chike Anigbogu — a team captain on the Rice Football Team — was designated as this years Scholor-Athlete. Volleyball players, Danyle Cortney and Sahara Maruska, were designated as Honor Athletes. These award winners were selected based on their character and accomplishments in academics and in sport. Amazing work!

Our student clubs HEALAR and SARCOMERE are doing an Academic Advising Session on Monday, November 6th from 4-5pm. Students will have the opportunity to talk with their peers and PAAs to discuss courses required/recommended within our offered majors!

Our department's Advising & Declaration Session is happening next week on Monday, November 6th from 12-1pm in Farnsworth Pavillon! 🤩

Rice mourns death of undergraduate student Kamryn Sanamo Kamryn Sanamo, a sports medicine and exercise physiology major and member of Rice University’s Martel College, died Thursday evening following a battle with brain cancer. She was 21 years old.

A recent publication by Health Sciences major, Casley Matthews, '23 and several of our faculty members was highlighted in this week's Rice News "People, Papers, & Presentations" 📰

People, papers and presentations for Oct. 3, 2022 Casley Matthews, a senior health sciences and social policy analysis student, is lead author of a paper in the Journal of American College Health that describes how the COVID-19 pandemic negatively impacted the nutrition of Houston college students.
