Herzliya Hebrew Gymnasium in Tel Aviv in the 1930s.
The Herzliya Hebrew Gymnasium was the first Hebrew high school. From 1909 to 1959 the school stood at the end of Herzl Street in Tel Aviv.
Thank you for sharing this photo Jonathan Dunsky. He is the author of the Adam Lapid book series that are set in Israel. The books are amazing reads!
Happy World Elephant Day!
One of my favorite places is the nursery . All of these babies are alive today because of their work. Looking forward to being back soon again ❤️

I highly recommend this book.
Dr Gladys is an incredibly courageous and determined woman. She is creating so much good change for people and wildlife in Uganda.
This book is so well written with a forward by Dr Jane Goodall.
So grateful to spend the evening in OC with Dr Gladys and her amazing husband Lawrence
Alamaya ❤️
I took this photo of this beautiful rhino Conservancy. Rhinos need our protection. They are one of the most targeted animals on the planet by poachers for their horns to be sold in Asia for traditional medicines. Rhino horn is made of keratin, just like our hair and fingernails. It is a myth that it has any medicinal properties. Only a rhino needs a rhino horn.

Thank you Steven for teaching us so much about the bush! I now know how to brush my teeth and track animals in the bush.
Thank you Nora, incredibly inspiring to hear about 50 years of research on elephant behavior by Amboseli Trust for Elephants. ❤️👏🙏
What do you do when a monkey comes into your tent while you are in it…. 😂

This big guy is named Tawi, because he hangs out around the Tawi Lodge.
Hyena pup.
Enkasha’s trunk got caught in a poachers snare. If you look carefully you can see her trunk has a hole in it. She had to have many surgeries and now she can adapt. Elephants use their trunks to drink, eat and for many other daily activities. Sheldrick Trust has rescued many elephants. If you go to their website you can adopt an elephant like Enkasha. As the keepers would say you can be part of the “Elephant family”

Ran into this beautiful elephant today. He is about 40 years old.
Are you a big sheldrick trust supporter? Or have a passion for elephants? I encourage you to go on a trip to the Sheldrick camps with Beverly Perry. You will have the most amazing time and meet many elephants and much more! www.orphantrailsafaris.com@sheldricktrust" rel="ugc" target="_blank">www.orphantrailsafaris.com@sheldricktrust
These guys are amazing! Their dedication and devotion to the orphans at Umani Springs is just above and beyond!
Thank you Adan and Evers! You are the kindest humans ❤️
The shirt I am wearing is from www.timetobeherd.com. When you purchase something from their site it supports these beautiful orphan elephants.
Kiasa and Murera. Umani spring was built for Murera 8 years ago. She is pictured on the right.
When she was a baby she stepped on a 6 inch poison nail that a poacher had hidden in the grass. Sadly her mother had to leave her there because she couldn’t move. The poacher returned and saw it was just a baby and left her there. She was found severely injured and crying. She couldn’t stand up for a whole year. She will never be able to go back into the wild. Her injuries prevent her from surviving on her own. However she is very happy and now she comforts and helps all the orphans when they arrive at Umani Springs.
Alamaya is a special elephant. He has captured my heart. ❤️He is part of a group of orphans that the keepers call the nightclubbers. This group spends the whole night in the forest and then they return early in the morning for breakfast. 😆
The teenage boys! Maktao, Kiasa and Kiombo wrestle and test their strength. However, often times the girls don’t like it because the boys can be too pushy! 😆
Sweet girl Amali is the newest edition to Umani Springs. She was brought here 4 months ago. Her trunk was caught in a poachers snare and she was severely injured. Elephant trunks are used like fingers to pick up food from the ground. Her trunk was severed. She has adapted by learning to scoop things from the ground with her trunk instead. She is still terrified of everything and everyone but the other orphans, have taken her under there wing. They give her comfort ❤️
Babies are protected not just by their mother but also by all their Aunties in the herd. Baby Milo is a strong and confident baby because of all the love he gets from his family in the wild. His mother is an ex orphan that now lives in the wild but also comes back to Ithumba to show off her baby and get food from the keepers.
