Bruce Sklare went on a two-week volunteer mission to Israel with SAR-EL, a national non-profit for volunteers for Israel he originally signed up for the mission because he wanted to get involved and do something good for Israel after Oct. 7. He didn’t know where or what he would be doing until he arrived at Ben-Gurion airport! Read about his incredible time doing important work helping our community and commitment to Israel.

YoPhi is comprised of Jewish 11th and 12th graders from the greater Indianapolis area. During their experience, Teen Board members engage in an in-depth examination of their Jewish values and understandings while gaining practical experience in philanthropy. The Teen Board members work as a philanthropic board focused on choosing a mission and making grants through a values-grounded, authentic, consensus-building process. The program will begin on Sept. 22, and wrap up in May 2025.

We mourn with Israel and the Druze community for those who have lost their lives and pray for the recovery of the wounded.
This months Sunday Spotlight is Marina Grabovsky! Marina recently spoke about her time with Jewish Federations of North America Leadership Cabinet at the study mission to Argentina and Uruguay. Cabinet is a leadership and philanthropic development program open to those between 30-45 who are looking to increase their philanthropy and engagement and are eager to become leaders in their local or national Jewish community.

Members of our community are making a difference at Leket in Israel. Asaf Goldstein and JFGI President Helen Kurlander Goldstein made time to volunteer while visiting their, Ethan. They packaged fruits and vegetables to send to displaced families in the Western Gailee. We couldn't be more proud!
