Becky's Place recently received a grant from the Lawrence County Community Foundation provided to replace the worn-down floor in their dining room. Becky's Place is always grateful the support that the community shows to the homeless women and children in their care.

The Eucharistic Congress begins today in Indianapolis. We are excited to welcome all of the attendees to our Archdiocese. We hope they have a great experience at the congress and feel the Hoosier hospitality.

Catholic Charities Terre Haute held their 7th Annual Wabash Valley Rubber Duck Regatta on July 4th. It was another great event. Thank you yo everyone who purchased ducks and came out to watch the duck regatta.

Did you know that each year Holy Family Shelter in Indianapolis holds a summer camp for their homeless children? This camp provides these children the opportunity to experience the joy and freedom of childhood in a safe and structured environment. It allows the kids to do a variety of experiences, field trips and educational activities to keep them engaged and active during the summer break.

As PTSD Awareness Month comes to a close and we look toward the 4th of July, Catholic Charities Bloomington Counseling Services reminds us to consider about how 4th of July celebrations might affect someone with PTSD. If fireworks, parades, or large crowds are a PTSD trigger for you or someone you know, try these tips to manage symptoms.
-Stay inside during nighttime fireworks
-Be Prepared: Take time to mentally prepare in the days leading up to the holiday.
-Seek Support from Others
-Practice Relaxation Techniques

As temperatures rise, Catholic Charities Tell City is seeing an increase in those seeking utility assistance. Rising utility rates are really affecting low-income households and people are having to decide to pay their bills or buy food. The agency is doing its best to address the needs of those in need.

Catholic Charities Indianapolis is pleased to welcome Alayna Bechtel as the new Operations Director for A Caring Place Adult Day Service. She recently graduated from the University of Indianapolis with a Bachelor's degree in Public Health with a concentration in Geriatrics. While in school, she obtained experience in a variety of healthcare settings such as home health and adult day service, where she developed a passion for working with older adults. Most recently, she interned with CICOA’s Dementia Programs department.

A Caring Place supports caregivers and their loved one by providing person-centered care in a safe, daytime environment specializing in older adults with physical and cognitive impairments. Learn more at helpcreatehope.org

St. Elizabeth Catholic Charities is making an impact thanks to those who support their annual Giving Hope ~Changing Lives Annual Gala

Catholic Charities Bloomington Counseling Services is excited to welcome two new interns from the IU School of Education's Mental Health Counseling Program this month. Both are familiar faces around CCB and we are grateful that they entrusted us with part of their counseling education.

CCB offers a rich and intensive internship experience at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Clients, the agency, and the students work together to create a symbiotic living-learning environment that strengthens the entire CCB community.

The Catholic Charities Tell City Table of Blessings program continues to serve meals to anyone in attendance, whether hungry for food or fellowship. This program is a collaboration between Catholic Charities and EUCC and continues to grow as it serves a free hot meal. Everyone is welcome.

A group of Senior Companions from Catholic Charities Indianapolis recently became Dementia Friends Indiana certified. Dementia Friends Indiana seeks to advance education and awareness of dementia, reduce the stigma associated with the disease, and create community environments that are welcoming and conducive for those living with dementia.
