Libertarian Tom Monka has recently been appointed to the Rush County Area Planning Commission by the Rush County, Indiana Board of Commissioners. Tom has been regularly attending meetings of Rush County government for at least five years. He'll make a difference locally and help make Rush County a more libertarian place to live and excel. Way to go Tom!!!!

Feel like you can't raise money for your campaign? Are you following the "6 Steps for Successful Campaign Fundraising"?

Well, there are many Libertarian candidates this year that have raised $20,000 all the way up to $90,000! You can still do it, too! Here's how they did it:

1. Create a detailed fundraising plan that sets objectives and clear goals (including how you will ask for contributions: in person, over the phone, email or letter).

2. Set fundraising micro goals for every event and donor calls session.

3. Don't neglect the "Ask". Candidates often talk with donors about what the campaign is doing, but forget to make a direct dollar amount ask.

4. Ask the donor who they know that would be interested in also donating. Then ask them to help you make contact.

5. Know ahead of time what you need and what you'll do with it.

6. Just do it! You should start with friends and family to get yourself comfortable with asking. But at every event, on every call, and in every written communication you need to ask for both their vote and a finical donation.
