A while back, I embarked on a mission to empower young girls through coding by founding The Gurl Code. The journey has been filled with countless accomplishments, a fair share of obstacles, and invaluable learning experiences. We started with a simple yet powerful vision: to equip girls with the skills and confidence to thrive in the tech world.
Along the way, we've achieved so much:
๐ป Hosted engaging coding workshops.
๐ Launched successful community events like "Come on Barbie, Let's Code Barbie!"
๐ค Built a strong network of supporters and collaborators.
But it hasn't been without challenges. From securing funding to building a sustainable business model, each hurdle has only strengthened my resolve and passion for our mission.
One of the proudest moments in this journey was completing NICHE 1.0, a rigorous program that provided us with the tools and knowledge to scale our impact. And just yesterday, another dream came true! We were awarded $10K in our very first pitch contest. ๐ This funding is a game-changer, allowing us to further our mission and reach even more girls with our programs.
I am beyond grateful for the support of our community, mentors, and everyone who believes in the power of The Gurl Code. Together, we are making a difference, one code at a time.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Here's to many more milestones and continued success in empowering the next generation of female coders! ๐
