It's Ada Lovelace Day!!

She is credited with being the first computer programmer. Lovelace wrote a computational program on paper in the 1840s, setting the stage for the field of computer science and everything tech.

Earlier this month, researchers at Stanford University developed the "mini CRISPR." The CRISPR system acts like scissors to cut and edit a genome by taking advantage of targeted Cas proteins. However, the more common Cas9 and Cas12 are big bulky, being made up of 1000 to 1500 amino acids. This limits the application of them because they are simply too big for some cells. This 'CasMINI' targets a different Cas protein that is much smaller, meaning it can be used in many more applications.
