At that time, since Mary was of the house of David, she registered with the venerable Joseph in Bethlehem. She was with child, having conceived virginally. O Jesus, your Lamb Anastasia cries out to You with great love: “O my Bridegroom, I long for You in great pain, I am crucified with You, and in baptism I am buried with You. I suffer for your sake in order to reign with You, I die for You in order to live in You. Accept me as an immaculate victim since I am immolated for your love.” Through her intercession, O Merciful One, save our souls!

Troparion of Saint Ignatius of Antioch (Tone 4)
O holy Hieromartyr Ignatius, you lent yourself to the Apostles’ way of life and succeeded them on their throne. Inspired by God, you found the way to contemplation through the practice of virtue; wherefore you became a perfect teacher of truth, fighting for the faith unto the shedding of your blood. Intercede with Christ God that He may save our souls.

Kontakion Of Ignatius (Tone 3)
The moving celebration of your successful fight is alike an announcement of the One who is to be born of the Virgin. Because of your eagerness to possess Him forever, you hastened to be devoured by ferocious beasts. Wherefore, glorious Ignatius, you were called the God-bearer.

PREPARATION FOR CHRISTMAS December 20-23

Apostichon Of The Preparation: Habakkuk 3:3 &1-2
God comes from Teman; the Holy One from the mountain overshadowed by the forest.
O Lord, I have heard your renown and feared, O Lord, your work.
Glory to the Father… Now and always…

Troparion Of The Preparation (Tone 4) December 20-24
Bethlehem, make ready, for Eden has been opened for all, Ephrata, be alert, for the Tree of Life has blossomed forth from the Virgin in a cave. Her womb has become a spiritual Paradise wherein the divine Fruit was planted – and if we eat it, we shall live and not die like Adam. Christ is coming forth to bring back to life the likeness that had been lost in the beginning.

Pre-Christmas Kontakion (Tone 3) Used daily from November 26 – December 24:
Today the Virgin is on her way to the cave where she will give birth to the Eternal Word of God in an ineffable manner. Rejoice therefore, O Universe when you hear this news, and glorify with the angels and the shepherds, Him who shall appear as a new Child, being God from all eternity.
