Mindful Well, CDC - Maternal Health MOMents - We compassionately serve underserved and overlooked groups challenged with mental health issues by providing accessible, quality, affordable mental health services with assessment, treatment, referral
Here are three important things to know about black maternal health:
1. Disparities: Black birthing persons in the United States are disproportionately affected by maternal health issues, facing higher rates of maternal mortality and morbidity compared to white women. These disparities are influenced by systemic racism, socioeconomic factors, and inadequate access to quality healthcare.
2. Advocacy: There is a growing movement to address the racial disparities in maternal health outcomes for black birthing persons. Advocates are calling for policy changes, increased funding for maternal health programs, and greater diversity in the healthcare workforce to provide culturally competent care.
3. Solutions: To improve black maternal health, it is crucial to address structural inequities in healthcare, invest in community-based programs that support maternal health, and prioritize the wellbeing of black birthing persons throughout the pregnancy and postpartum period.
By raising awareness about these issues and advocating for change, Mindful-Well, CDC can work together with partners towards achieving better maternal health and mental health outcomes for black women.
You can help also by 📧 sharing and 👍 liking our posts, 📲 referring a birthing person you care about to our agency for support and/ or 💳 donating via link in bio to help us to provide necessary resources to birthing families.

Becoming new parents can be exciting, anxiety-invoking and overwhelming all at the same time. You can focus so much on the baby and their needs, attempting to get rest that the love and intimacy in the relationship can be relegated to the back burner. If we add on the symptoms of Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders, the closeness between partners can dwindle.
We encourage couples who are new to parenting (even if it’s your 2nd or 3rd time) to make each other a priority. Here are 5 ways to maintain the love and intimacy of the relationship that don’t focus on s*x but reinforce connection.
