The Adair County Recorder's Office will be closed on Thursday, July 4th and Friday, July 5th in observance of Independence Day.

Anyone whose last name has changed due to marriage, will need a "certified copy of their marriage license" for every name change since their birth certificate name. The certified copy of the marriage can only be obtained from the county that the marriage license was "applied for" in.....not necessarily where you were actually married.

If you have received one of these documents in the mail wanting you to pay $118 for your property deed and assessment information, from a company out of California......PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY......a copy of your deed can be purchased from our office for only $0.50 per page. Nearly all of the other assessment information can be found by stopping in the Adair County Courthouse.

Our office does not have pre-made deed/document forms. Many times forms off of the internet do not contain all of the specific requirements necessary for recording in Missouri. Typically a title company or an attorney will be best to draw up the document that you are needing to record. All documents must follow the Missouri Recording Statutes to be able to be recorded.
