Many of you know, we recently experienced the loss of a great teacher at Central this year. We will be holding a Celebration of Life Memorial service for 4th grade teacher Ms. Kingston this Wednesday, Ma 22nd, 2024 at First Baptist of Kissimmee from 5:30-6:30 pm. Please come to show your love and appreciation for her.

This was an amazing week with so many celebrations! We rewarded our students with perfect attendance, our top 2 classes for Amira usage Ms. Pagán 3rd grade and Ms. Cadiz Kindergarten class. Also, 2 winners from the Reading Challenge and a Lexia Superstar! Congratulations for all the hard work you’ve done and for your responsibility. keep up the good work!

We had our STEAM and DATA night tonight! Our students showed their STEAM projects, had fun in the different stations, and parents had the opportunity to learn about STAR and FAST testing. Thank you so much to all the teachers that helped and thanks to Eckerd Connects - Prevention Services for the support to our families and students.

En español: El Distrito Escolar de Osceola ha ajustado sus tiempos de llamadas de asistencia escolar para garantizar un enfoque más proactivo en el seguimiento de la asistencia de los estudiantes. Este nuevo calendario de llamadas se está implementando con un enfoque principal en mejorar la seguridad de todos los estudiantes, y es especialmente importante en situaciones en las que un estudiante puede estar ausente inesperadamente de la escuela sin previo aviso.

A partir del 25 de marzo, las llamadas de asistencia se realizarán cada día que la escuela esté en sesión de la siguiente manera:

· Las llamadas de la escuela secundaria que reflejen la asistencia matutina en el primer período programado comenzarán a salir a las 9:00 a.m. Los estudiantes que tienen doble inscripción matutina no estarán incluidos, ya que no tienen un primer período en el que se tome la asistencia;

· Las llamadas de asistencia a la escuela primaria y New Begginings comenzarán a salir a las 10:00 a.m. ;

· Las llamadas de asistencia a la escuela secundaria, K-8 y la Escuela de Artes del Condado de Osceola comenzarán a salir a las 11:00 a.m.; y

· Por la tarde, las llamadas de la escuela secundaria que reflejen la asistencia por período para el día escolar saldrán a las 3:45 p.m., a excepción de las llamadas de la Escuela de las Artes del Condado de Osceola, que saldrán a las 5:00 p.m.

The Osceola School District has adjusted its school attendance call-out times to ensure a more proactive approach in monitoring student attendance. This new schedule of calls is being implemented with a primary focus on enhancing the safety and security of all students, and is especially important in situations where a student may be unexpectedly absent from school without prior notice.

Beginning on March 25th, attendance calls will go out on each day school is in session as follows:

· High school calls reflecting morning attendance in the first scheduled period will start going out at 9:00 a.m. Students who have morning dual enrollment will not be included as they have no first period where attendance is taken;

· Elementary school and New Beginnings Education Center attendance calls will start going out at 10:00 a.m.;

· Middle school, K-8, and Osceola County School for the Arts attendance calls will start going out at 11:00 a.m.; and

· In the afternoon, high school calls reflecting attendance by period for the school day will go out at 3:45 p.m., except for Osceola County School for the Arts calls, which will go out at 5:00 p.m.

Don’t forget that parents are able to view daily attendance by clicking the “Attendance” link in the Parent Portal. Parents may set-up a free Parent Portal account by visiting https://osceola.focusschoolsoftware.com/focus/auth/.

Today our 3rd, 4th and 5th graders participated in an assembly. We talked about classroom expectations, upcoming testing, school goals, laptop care and more. Students were listening and participating. We are so proud of all of you!

Hablamos sobre las expectativas del salón de clases, los próximos exámenes, las metas escolares, el cuidado de las computadoras portátiles y más.
