Pleasant Glade Elementary

It was a great week at The Glade! Fall Festival, Party with the principals, Kindergarten readers, Leaders of Learning, and two assemblies!

Matthew Landers, 5th grade teacher at PGE, is teaching students how to plant a pollinator garden. Students will use this space to learn more about pollinators and how they help the planet! Thank you to our PTSA for your support of this project!

Our PAWS cart is coming around to classrooms for the first time this year on October 9th! Students earn PAWS tickets for showing expected behavior around school. They can cash them in for cool prizes! Our PAWS cart is all made possible by our phenomenal PTSA!

We had our first Panther Pride assembly of the year! Pan the Panther showed up, and we had Deputy Rose, too!

The lunch brigade came to hang out with students at recess today! Thank you to our district military liaison, Katie Linfoot, for organizing it!

Please join us for Open House on September 25th from 5:00 - 6:30. To maximize parking, we are asking those with last names A-L to come from 5:00 - 5:45 and those with last names M-Z to come from 5:45 - 6:30. If that time doesn't work for you, just come when you can!
We will have take-home fluency activities, Mathnasium, Kona Ice, Timberland Libraries, and much more!

Did you know that Pleasant Glade is starting a Dual Language program for incoming kindergarten students? We currently have space! Our program is a classroom made up of half native English speakers and half native Spanish speakers, with lessons taught in both languages. Young learners can develop skills in two languages to serve them throughout their lives! If you have a student who will be a kindergartener in the 24-25 school year, you can learn more about the program below! Please apply by May 31st for top consideration.

Our Leaders of Learning for April were celebrated this week at our assembly as well as a special performance from our 1st graders to promote multicultural night.

Thank you to all the Pleasant Glade families who supported our Multicultural Night! It was so much fun, and we are excited to do it even bigger next year!

Twinstar came to celebrate our attendance winners for second quarter. Mrs. Dedman’s class won for most improved attendance. Mrs. Brennan’s class won for best attendance. Each class has $150 to spend on classroom items to help build their classroom community. We appreciate our partnership with TwinStar Credit Union so much.
