It is with a heavy heart that the Lackawanna City School District announces the loss of a beloved staff member, Amy Trawinski-Marcin. Mrs. Marcin was a second-grade teacher at Martin Road Elementary School. She began her career 32 years ago in the district as a PreK teacher. Mrs. Marcin always advocated for her students and went above and beyond to support them. She was also involved in many activities and committees in the district including but not limited to the district musical, building leadership team, district strategic planning committee, and grade level chairperson. Please keep her family and our Lackawanna Steeler Family in your thoughts during this time.

Saturday Acadamy March 9th.
Ms. Merrill was a kind, caring person who was very passionate about what she did. She truly cared about each one of her students and fought for what they needed. Ms. Merril was not just a speech pathologist, she was involved with may extra activities at Martin Road and the High School. I will miss her smile and kind words which always brightened my day. As my son's speech pathologist, I knew he was in good hands and he felt safe with her and grew immensely since starting working with her. Ms. Merrill will be forever in our hearts, and as my son now says, "We have a guardian angel watching over us now."
It is with a heavy heart that the Lackawanna City School District announces the loss of a beloved staff member, Sheila Merrill. Ms. Merrill was a speech pathologist at Martin Road Elementary School, but more importantly, she served as an advocate for all students and colleagues during her eight years with the district. Please keep her family and our Lackawanna Steeler Family in your thoughts during this time.
