Here are some tips to stay cool in hot weather:
Stay hydrated π§π§π§π§
Drink water regularly throughout the day, even before you feel thirsty. You can also try electrolyte-rich drinks and water-rich foods. Avoid dehydrating drinks like caffeine, energy drinks, and alcohol.
π¦π¦π¦
Dress appropriately
Wear light, loose-fitting clothing made from breathable fabrics like cotton or moisture-wicking materials. You can also try a white shirt instead of a black one. Don't forget a hat and sunglasses to protect your face and eyes from the sun.π§π§΄βοΈβ±οΈπ§’πππ§΄βοΈβ±οΈπ§’πππ§
Cool down
Take cool showers or baths, use a spray bottle or damp sponge to keep your skin wet, or use cold compresses. You can also try putting ice in your water bottle, wrapping a cold wet towel around your neck, or putting your ankles in water.
πΏππΏππΏπ
Stay indoors
Try to stay inside during the hottest parts of the day. If you don't have air conditioning, you can try blocking out the sun with blankets or darker sheets, especially on windows that get afternoon sun. You can also open windows at night to help circulate air.

As a vital member of the Design Review Committee for Rosetta Canyon Homeowners Association, I aim to serve and help residents understand the value and purpose of ensuring the safety and aesthetics of our Community.
When I drive through the Community and see the number of brown lawns, I am alarmed because that dead grass is not just an eyesore, but a potential fire hazard. While it may seem like a cost-saving measure, converting a yard to a drought-tolerant landscape can actually save you money in the long run. Our Association has a comprehensive drought-tolerant plan; I have provided a link to download the handbook for those interested. https://www.myrosettacanyon.com/docs.html
If you are a renter in our Community, it's crucial that you and the property owner have open and regular conversations about the safety and maintenance of your rental, including the preservation of the landscape.
I hope this information helps you or others in the Community. We all share the responsibility for fire safety in our Community. With a ton of dry brush behind us on the hillsides, we must all become aware of the potential fire risks.
Check your Apple Store and Google Play Store for more apps that generate wildfire mapping and alerts.

We are only sometimes happy with the services provided by our HOA Board or Avalon Management (property management.)
However, I want to share the work that the Board we homeowners elected is doing this year.
First, our $78.00 association fee is pleasantly low. I've lived in RC since 2007; this is the first time I've seen dues waived for three months!
I am active with the Design Review Committee and attend Board online meetings when possible. I call or send messages to the property management office when I see something out of wack (like the excess leaves and absence of ground coverage in the landscape!)
I use my voice. I am challenging other Rosetta Canyon Homeowners Association neighbors to do the same. Please note that Rosetta Canyon and Rosetta Canyon Hills are not the same and may have separate property management companies.
Take time in 2024 to get to know your community, engage in community meetings, and let your voice become positive and active. Your concerns and opinions do matter.
Enjoy your $234.00 gift!!!
Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Holiday Season

We wanted to bring your attention to an important weather update that
may soon affect our area. Southern California has been issued a
Tropical Storm Watch as Hurricane Hilary moves north along the Baja
California coast.
While itβs uncertain how the storm will
ultimately impact our area, it is important to be prepared for potential
significant wind & rainfall.
As such, Avalon and your
community association urges everyone to take necessary precautions to
ensure the safety of your homes and properties. Here are some important
steps you can take:
Secure Outdoor Items: To prevent damage
caused by strong winds, please secure or bring indoors any outdoor items
that could become projectiles. This includes patio furniture, outdoor
toys, un-secured BBQs and any loose objects that might pose a risk.
Assess
Potential Flooding Areas: Identify any areas on your property that are
prone to flooding. Check your drainage system and remove any debris that
could hinder proper water flow. Keeping these pathways and drains clear
will help minimize the risk of water accumulation.
Close or
take down Outdoor Umbrellas: If you have outdoor patio umbrellas or
other mobile shade structures, make sure to close and secure them.
Strong winds can easily damage or carry away these items, posing a
danger to your property and those around you.
It better to be safe than sorry!

Thankful that Rosetta Canyon has a property management company that will take action immediately. We don't like graffiti, it serves no purpose here in our community.

Dear Taggers, please keep your creativity to your own property, the walls in your bedroom, or perhaps the sidewalk in front of your house.
This is a community, not a canvas for your destructive activities.
Please understand that those of us who reside here have a financial investment in our community. Chances are you don't, so stop with the foolishness.
Thank you.π»πΉπ―
