I hope you’re enjoying time with your families during these beautiful first days of summer break. REMINDER that Mrs. Nordquist and a rotating group of East Lake staff & teachers will be checking books out to students every Wednesday this summer through August 14th. Come through door 8 from 10-11:30AM and you can get 10 books at your reading level plus a “Who Was” or “Who Would Win” for the week.
Next Wednesday 6/19 the hours will be 10-11:30AM AND 6:30 – 7:30 PM.

Thank you Exteriors of Excellence for donating gutters for our pavilion (they are a former East Lake family)! Kate Wilson (mom of 2nd & K) helped map out and plant our garden beds. Ms. Moorhouse used the 3D printer to label all of the plants. It took teamwork but now we have a rain barrel to reuse rain water to help our herb and butterfly garden grow! ♻️ 🪴 💦 🦋 This summer we will need your help to water and trim back the herbs! If you are willing to help, let us know!

Staff Appreciation was extended for one more day - a midday pick me up from The Wandering Mug coffee truck! Thank you parents for spoiling us!! We feel the love!

For the last day of staff appreciation week, we gave the staff boxes filled with “throw back” candy and a new water bottle sticker!

Staff Apreciation Week
Day 1: Disco and Donuts! The lounge was filled with coffee, treats and donuts this morning! 🕺🏼🪩

What a way to kick off Staff Appreciation Week! We have over 100 staff members at East Lake and we will celebrate ALL of them this week! Thank you to all of the parents and families who have donated and helped us make this a wonderful event. - Sara & Mandy

East Lake fifth grade band students are ready to perform for our families tonight!

Thank you to our Student Leadership team for their hard work and to everyone that brought in donations to make our Food Drive a success. East Lake collected just over 1,800 pounds of very highly needed food for the 360 Communities food shelf!

Tomorrow is the LAST day for the food drive! Help us crush our goal of 4,000 pounds!! The greatest amount we've donated was 3,700 pounds 2 years ago. 🎉

School Tool Box is now available for ordering your 2024-25 school supplies!

Tonight, East Lake will turn into a mini, interactive science museum where you can enjoy all different kinds of STEM activities! Come and be part this awesome experience from 6:00-7:30pm. Students should bring their iPads and must be accompanied by an adult. We look forward to seeing you!

It’s time to buy beautiful flowers and plants! There is ONE week left for our Pahl's Spring fundraiser! Orders are due by April 19th at midnight. Pickup is on SUNDAY May 5th at East Lake Elementary after 12pm. Family and friends are welcome to order too! Orders must be picked up by Sunday evening. Well, we tried!! The whole school received glasses (thanks PTO!) and were able to step outside to view the partial eclipse today! It definitely got cold and windy! ☀️🌖

What is Girls on the Run?
Girls on the Run (3rd-5th grade) involves teams of 8-20 participants led by 3-6 trained volunteer coaches. Meeting twice a week for 8 weeks, girls prepare for a 5K while playing games and activities that incorporate life skills, such as managing emotions, being a good friend, standing up for yourself and others!

Why Girls on the Run?
Run may be in our name, but Girls on the Run is much more than stretches and lap goals. Participants with and without disabilities learn to embrace their inner strength, increase their physical activity level, create meaningful connections with others, and make an impact on their communities.

What's the impact?
97% of participants learned essential life skills at Girls on the Run – including managing emotions, resolving conflict, helping others, or making intentional decisions – that they continue to use at home, at school, and with their friends.
