Thanks so much to everyone involved in The 24 Hour Plays: Lancaster this year — all the artists, crew, and volunteers, the band, our hosts at West Art, our sponsors, and the amazing audience!! We are still recovering, but it was a blast. 🎭🍓🎶❤️

We appreciate your support, and hope to see you again at our next event!
As we head into the final stretch of our 24 hours, we have to thank sponsors and for providing breakfast! The caffeine and carbs got the group off to a good start this morning!! 😄
Tech time! Come see the debut of six brand new works by local playwrights, all written, rehearsed and produced within 24 hours! One night only!
Writer Alex Bannon came prepared with comfy clothes to get that “at home” feeling while writing a play overnight. 😁✍️
The writers negotiate which actors they will write for (and maybe who gets to wear that bird mask).
Our writers have an amazing assortment of international snacks to fuel them overnight, and we imagine they’ll share the leftovers with actors and directors tomorrow too. Thanks to our newest sponsor for providing yummy treats!
Looking forward to creating some new theater at West Art this weekend! Hope you’ll join us for The 24 Hour Plays: Lancaster — and enjoy a beverage from Our Town Brewery while you watch!
As with all of our events, you can reserve tickets now and pay what you decide after the show: https://creativelancaster.org/the-24-hour-plays-lancaster-returns-on-june-8th-2024/
Picked up some goodies from Lemon Street Market this afternoon to feed our participating artists during The 24 Hour Plays: Lancaster! Lemon Street has been a sponsor since the very first time we did this project, and we’re so grateful for their continued support. 🍋 🍋 🍋
Here’s a preview of the process about to unfold this weekend — it’s always an amazing whirlwind of creativity, collaboration, and community, and we love it! 😍

It's that time again! We're looking for folks to write, act, direct, and volunteer for this year's production of The 24 Hour Plays: Lancaster - a project that features six short plays written, rehearsed, and performed within a 24 hour period. This year it will be held on June 7 & 8.

* PWYD allows all patrons to assess what the value of a performance is for them individually and removes the risk of spending money up front on a new performance they might not traditionally attend with a traditional ticket pricing structure. With PWYD, Creative Works will never turn away a potential audience member due to financial limitations.
All tickets are free to reserve, and there is no obligation, or suggested minimum.
Grab your umbrella and sturdy shoes and join us at for Cemetery Plots at 1pm or 3:30. Enjoy some dramatics in the drizzle during today!

We’d be remiss if we didn’t take a cue from our board member, Steve Garner, and shine a light on this great piece about him! 🤩 He’s brought so much to Creative Works — and to so many other organizations in Lancaster. We’re glad he’s here!
Tellus360 lighting programmer has lit up the world, from the Tribute in Light to 'Millionaire?' There is a very good chance that you have seen something that Steven Garner helped illuminate.
Attention all Lancaster artists, creatives, and exquisite explorers! Creative Works of Lancaster is seeking actors and extras for an upcoming project in Lancaster Cemetery featuring new works from local playwrights, set to premiere May 4th-5th as a part of Lancaster's spring ArtWalk.
Auditions will be held virtually and there’s no need to prepare anything (unless you really want to). We are casting for 15-18 speaking roles along with a large number of extras, so there’s a little something for everyone– from seasoned actors to newbies looking to test the waters! Rehearsals will begin in early April, and if you're looking to join us as an extra, you won't have to commit as much time to the rehearsal process.
If you’re interested in collaborating with us, please follow this link: https://forms.gle/LhDsJjxowRSswgx36

THANK YOU from cast, crew, and Creative Works to everyone who came out to see A Christmas Carrie!
Shout out to the Christmas Carrie “creator”, writer Erich Goldstein! Erich was the original Norman Bates in 2010’s Sock Puppet Psycho and wrote the puppet parodies Jaws to the World, Silence of the Socks, and Star Wars: the Skywalker Socka. He’s also written for 24 Hour Plays and Play Grounds. Creative Works produced his musical, Absolutely Anything, in 2015. He was a board member (including board chair) for many years and helped organize and produce just about every production we did until he moved away from PA. We’ve even pulled him in remotely for a few projects since then. So THANK YOU, Erich, for your many talents and giving us the craziness that is A Christmas Carrie!
Just a reminder that if you can’t use your free tickets (we ask you to donate if you are able after the show) for A Christmas Carrie this Friday 12/15 then please contact and release your seats! Don’t make Carrie turn her terrifying telekinetic eyes on you! 👀 😄
