A Mindful Change Behavioral Health
Whole health services because your whole health starts in your mind. Non-judgment in a safe space.
The greatest myth in life is that we actually have control. Control is an illusion. It does not really exist.
For example, ever get in your car, turn the key, and it doesn't start? Your expectation was that you were getting ready to go. However, for now, you have to figure out what's wrong or call AAA. You are not in control of this very simple thing, starting your car, any longer. Nothing proves to us more than the unexpected events in life how little control we actually have.
We also need to understand that there is a difference between determination and control. I can determine I'm going to get the car fixed, but I am not really in control of when that is done. We learn to adapt and cope through being flexible. Flexibility, (the release of control), allows us to bend and adjust to the present circumstance. Rigidity, (the need for control), keeps us in a position that will eventually cause us to break.
As well, I can determine to do things differently. However, since I cannot control my thoughts, which affect my feelings, I'm not really in control. We have over 6000 thoughts a day, and thoughts activate emotions. The only thing I am able to control is whether I react or respond to my emotional state. Reactions = emotional dysregulation. Responses = emotional regulation.
All of this to say, if I want peace of mind, I must release my attachment to the result, and this opens me up to wholeness. Practicing mindfulness, thinking about what we are thinking, without judging, allows us to stay in the moment and accept that what is, is only "for now". Instead of attempting to take on too much, to control what is, I accept one thing at a time, (even if I have several things coming at me - prioritize. What is most important?), and deal with it. Our minds were not created to multitask, this is control effort on steroids. Allow yourself to heal and grow by practicing psychological flexibility.
โHe who has attained the freedom of reason to any extent cannot, for a long time, regard himself otherwise than as a wanderer on the face of the earth - and not even as a traveler towards a final goal, for there is no such thing. But he certainly wants to observe and keep his eyes open to whatever actually happens in the world; therefore he cannot attach his heart too firmly to anything individual; he must have in himself something wandering that takes pleasure in change and transitoriness.โ
โ Friedrich Nietzsche
Emotions are neither good nor bad. They are neither positive nor negative. They ARE comfortable and uncomfortable. When we can adjust our perspective to recognize what I am feeling doesn't make me good nor bad, positive nor negative. What I am feeling makes me aware of what is happening in my psyche and body, and the emotion will give me an indication of what I need to do next. I flush out what that is by approaching it with Wise Mind and then responding, instead of reacting to what I am feeling.
Expanding horizons to empower organizations in fostering healthier, well-rounded lives for their staff.
We are continuing to share and ask that you share this fundraiser and ask those you share with to share with everyone they know, and etcetera, etcetera (anyone who has ever seen the King and I knows my reference here). Anyway, we are asking that everyone donate $5.00 not $100 or $1000 but $5 (minimum for gofundme). If we reach 100,000 people we will have achieved our goal. Following the 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon concept, we all know each other. If we continue to spread this message and this ask, $5.00 we will far exceed our goal.
Most of us can spare a buck...and more importantly take the few seconds it takes to share this with all you know whether on this platform or another, via email, text, phone call or in-person. Please share as we begin the work of helping the homeless become homed, permanently.

It's mental health awareness month. Mental health is part of whole health, take good care of your whole self. Needing help is not a character flaw...refusing to ask for it....
Remember, the only thing for certain in life is change. What is, is "for now". Don't hook into it.

People have to change at their own pace. The stages of change help to explain this and how we each have to get to our action stage at our own rate.
The Mind-Body Connection is real. One's physical pain can affect their mental health, and vice-versa. Take care of your whole health.
It's PTSD Awareness Month. Please take time to recognize that people suffer from trauma and react to life from their traumatic experiences. Be there for them, not their judge.
The Mind-Body Connection is more than a "saying" - it is a real thing. Physical and mental pain can be closely connected - suffering does not have to be without option. Seek out help because suffering in silence only makes things worse.
Perfection and control are pathways to anxiety and depression. As well, they can led to interpersonal conflict. Therapy can help create coping skills to develop a healthier road for daily functioning. May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Take good care of you by taking good care of your mental health.
