The Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) assists incoming and current international students and scholars (F-1, J-1, H-1B, TN, B-1, and PR pending status), and their families, to make smooth transitions at UNLV into successful academic, professional, and social experiences. We help with employment eligibility verification, employment applications, visa and travel issues, immigration advising and documents.
Our Global Ambassadors have been working hard (with a little fun) this Summer preparing for a great 24-25 school year. We can’t wait to welcome our new students and to be reunited with our current students. Stay tuned for all of the exciting events we have planned for this Fall 🍂
Our UNLV international community is exploring the world this Summer! One of our international postdocs from India, Abinash, spent some time this Summer traveling in Europe!
He started in Paris where he toured the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, and cathedrals. Then moved to Chamonix where he had a nice weekend in the quiet and naturally blissful town of Chamonix. Next, he went to Sweden and Norway where he got to experience the Land of the Midnight Sun. He took a cruise ride to Åland and visited Uppsala, a very nice and green student town.
What an incredible experience! Keep doing amazing things. 🌎🌏🌍

Summer break 2024! ⛰️☀️🥾
We love seeing our students having fun exploring during the break! Here are 4 incredible UNLV international students taking advantage of the natural beauty of Nevada. This is the Historic Railroad Hiking Trail located along Lake Mead about 30 minutes from campus!
We would love to hear about all of the exciting things you are doing this Summer! This could be traveling domestically or internationally, exploring Las Vegas, internships (make sure you have CPT!), taking classes, etc! Email us ([email protected]) a picture with a short description and your name to highlight on our social media to be entered into a raffle that will be drawn at the beginning of the Fall semester.
This multilingual community provides a place for students eager to explore language learning beyond the classroom, and a space to live a shared multicultural and multilingual experience. The community is open to undergraduates in languages taught at UNLV: Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Italian, and Spanish. While language majors and minors receive preference, any student in second-year or above language studies may apply. The community also welcomes first-generation students enrolled in the English Language Center, as well as international students who speak a language taught at UNLV. This global environment hosts cultural programming, study groups within target languages, and mentoring by native and advanced students to support newer language learners.
Availability for this community is first come first serve, so apply today at unlv.edu/housing/apply
Check out this incredible opportunity available to all UNLV students!

Meet our ELC Peer Tutor!
Hi everyone! My name is Diane Devrow and I am an elementary education major. Growing up, I often helped my mom with her grammar and pronunciation as English is her third language after Tagalog and Bisaya. One of my goals as a future educator is to teach abroad as an English teacher. I love to travel and learn about new cultures and languages. My main objective during tutoring sessions is to make sure that everyone has a safe and fun time learning. I am happy to help!
