Degan Elementary 23/24

Shout out to Kindness Club for a successful Hygiene Drive. They collected tons of new hygiene products to donate to Denton County Friends of the Family!

LISD Family Notice:

Early this afternoon, in coordination with local law enforcement, Lewisville ISD Campuses in the City of Lewisville were placed in a Secure. During a secure, students remain or return inside the building, and all doors are locked. No visitors are allowed inside the building, but classes continue as normal.

This was done out of an abundance of caution while law enforcement officials investigated a situation in the Lewisville area. No threat was made against any of our schools. The district has no additional information about the situation, as it was a police matter unrelated to our schools.

Earlier in the day, an ambulance was dispatched to Lewisville High School - Killough to respond to a medical issue with a student. The two situations were unrelated.

Our Degan staff represented well at the 2024 to honor our Teacher of the Year- Felix Carrion Jr., New Teacher of the Year- Emilie McCumbers, and Paraprofessional of the Year- Jennifer Moore-Norup. We are so proud of each one of them!

Degans drill was a success this morning. Please compliment your student on a job well done! We are so proud of them!

Degan is hosting its first ever GAME NIGHT! Please join us April 25th. Feel free to bring a game you and your family enjoy playing ( school appropriate) of it you have any games you are willing to donate or lend we could definitely use some extras! We hope to see you there 😁

Happy Administrative Professionals Day to the ladies who hold us all together here at Degan!!!

Future Farmer families, the Killough track is included in Prop B which, if approved, would provide funding for maintenance and repairs.

The 7 non-stadium tracks included in Prop B, such as this example from Forestwood, have reached the end of their useful life, which is approximately 20 years for asphalt tracks and 10 years for synthetic surfaces.

Today’s the day!!! Come out and support our efforts to raise money for Degan Scholarship this evening!! This scholarship helps us honor a former Degan student graduating from high school and pursuing higher education! See you soon!!

Lewisville ISD's two aquatic centers are used by the district for teaching water safety courses to all second grade students, and house LISD swim, dive and water polo programs. Projects included in Prop A address maintenance & repairs to these facilities.

Please come out and join us to support our former Degan Eagles! This is a fundraiser that goes toward a scholarship for a graduating senior that went to Degan! Bring the whole family to eat some delicious food and support a great cause! 🍝

You don’t want to miss our biggest event of the year!

🍚 Everybody Eats Rice! 🍚

Tuesday, March 26th from 5:30pm-7pm.

Staff and Degan families will serve up their favorite rice dishes to share with guests. Learn about different countries, cultures, and maybe even take home a few new recipes! Come hungry and ready to indulge in all things RICE! Please RSVP your rice dish by March 22nd.

💚🦅 You are invited to Degan’s Open House, TOMORROW (March 7th) from 5:30pm-7:00pm! You will get to explore the school with a Scavenger Hunt and there will be a music performance in the cafeteria at 6:45pm! We hope to see you all there! 🦅💚
