Heartland Speech & OT
We provide pediatric speech and occupational therapy services in a child-centered atmosphere. Heartland is here for YOUR child's unique needs!
At Heartland, our therapists believe that families know their children best and should be valued as the experts on the team. All of our services are offered in a style which engages families as active participants from the initial evaluation to therapy sessions to carryover into daily activities.

What is your role at Heartland?
I'm a Speech-Language Pathologist.
Tell us about you!
I'm originally from central Nebraska and completed my undergradutate and graduate programs at UNK. I married my husband Jonathan in 2022 and we have recently become a family of four after welcoming a baby girl in March. He and I, and my step-daughter Adelynn, are having the best time loving on baby Genevieve! I truly enjoy spending my time indoors and outdoors with my family, but also love to travel. Some of my favorite vacation destinations so far include Yellowstone, Canada, and Cheyenne Frontier Days in Wyoming and I LOVE anywhere with a beach. I also love to snow ski and have been vacationing to Colorado yearly with my family ever since I learned how to ski at three years old. I also enjoy live music, playing recreational sports, reading, watching Husker football, and going to Husker volleyball games. I really love to bake and have made a little side business out of this hobby - probably because chocolate chip cookies are my all time favorite treat!
What do you love about your career?
The best part about being an SLP is helping kids develop their communication skills and watching them achieve goals and be successful in interactions with others, but I absolutely love the hilarious stories and one-liners they come up with, too! The relationships that I have with each of the kids is so special to me and the hugs I receive daily truly let me know that I'm making a difference in their lives - and there's really nothing better than that!

What is your role at Heartland?
I started at Heartland in July of 2023, and I am a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant!
Tell us about you!
I love traveling and doing anything outdoors! Summer is my favorite time of year because of the opportunities to get outside and do all the fun summer activities. I love hiking, tanking, reading by the pool, swimming in the lake, country music concerts, and a campfire at night under the stars. I love reading, hanging out with family and friends, and cooking new recipes.
What do you love about your career?
Working at Heartland has been a huge blessing! I work alongside some of the best people, and I have grown so much professionally because of the people I work with. I have enjoyed seeing so much progress in the kiddos I have been seeing since starting at Heartland. Each day brings a new adventure which keeps things exciting around here. :)

What is your role at Heartland? I am a clinic assistant!
Tell us about you!
I am a senior at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders. I will graduate in December and hope to begin working toward a master's degree in speech-language pathology in the fall of 2025. I recently married my husband, Joel, in January! Outside of work and school, youβll find me playing pickleball, taking a cycling class, or sipping on a chai latte from the Mill! A few of my favorite things include my parents' dog, Butters, chasing sunsets, and enjoying a sweet treat (or two)!
What do you love about your career?
I love getting to interact with kiddos and their families! It is also a joy getting to work with individuals who are so passionate about their career and serving the community!
What is your favorite kind of potato?

What is your role at Heartland?
I am a Speech-Language Pathologist.
Tell us about you!
I grew up on a farm 30 minutes outside of Lincoln. I went to undergrad at UNL, graduate school at UNK and spent my first two years out of grad school at Gretna Public Schools. I have a small dog named Lexi and she turned 14 in March. My parents have a border collie that I claim as mine too :). My first nephew was born at the end of August and I enjoy spending as much of my free time with him as possible, as well as other family and friends. I also enjoy baking, reading, listening to podcasts/books, and going for walks. I have a big sweet tooth, but have only recently found an appreciation for peanut butter desserts.
What do you love about your career?
I love the excitement and the sense of pride kids have when they are making progress towards their goals and accomplishing new skills! I also love listening to kids telling stories and never knowing what they are going to say!
What is your favorite kind of potato π₯?
Itβs hard to choose just one, but my favorite is probably a crispy French fry with some sort of sauce.
