But being able to work and travel to another continent was a million times more thrilling.” Civil Engineering student Ashley Hernandez-Najera had the opportunity this summer to travel to Zambia with the Engineers Without Borders program.

“Our Engineers Without Borders team spends a lot of time designing and preparing for these projects, so traveling helped combine all the joy and hard work this club goes through. When speaking with community members, I could see their eyes brighten as we showed them our designs. The thank you’s and welcoming smiles made it all worthwhile and are moments I will cherished forever.”

Engineers Without Borders is a is an international non-profit organization that aims to build a better world through engineering projects that empower communities globally to meet their basic human needs and equip leaders to solve the world’s most pressing challenges. Student Success: When a rocket nicknamed “Cargo Dragon” blasted off from Florida on Thursday afternoon, March 21, it was the beginning of NASA’s 30th commercial resupply mission to the International Space Station (ISS).
