Take a few minutes to remind your elected officials that Waiver services are underfunded in Arkansas today, as they prepare to make another round of tax cuts for the wealthiest Arkansans.
We should be investing in our children, not in cuts ย The General Assembly is meeting today, and we need your help!ย Call your state senator & representative and tell them to vote NO on SB 1 and HB 1002.ย 1 in 5 Arkansas kids live in povertyโa crisis that our state government should...

Please take a few minutes and send an email so they can verify your place on the waitlist and make sure they can contact you when the time comes to get you or your loved oneโs services started. Dear AWA Membership:
Are you a disability professional who works in, oversees, or does advocacy related to the daily living or residential services used by people with intellectual disability?
If so, we invite you to take part in a 30-60 minute anonymous online survey regarding your opinions related to the sexual relationships of women with intellectual disability and associated services. Your perspective will help inform how womenโs sexual rights and opportunities can be supported and enhanced in practice. You can access the survey here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/DisabilityProfessional
You will receive an $8 Amazon e-gift card for your participation.
We welcome and appreciate you forwarding this email to your colleagues and those who work at your agency, as applicable (but just ask that the invitation isnโt posted publicly, so we ensure we only hear from disability professionals). We also share our appreciation to those of you who have taken the survey to-date!
Thank you for everything you do to support people with ID!

AWA received an update from DDS on the status of the CES Waiver Amendment application. Below is information included in the update:
* The CES Waiver Amendment along with all public comments made on the amendment have been submitted to CMS, and CMS has told the state to expect a determination regarding approval by August 1, 2022.
* A copy of the submitted amendment and comments can be accessed at this link: https://acrobat.adobe.com/link/track?uri=urn:aaid:scds:US:22c3fe2c-fd1d-3a45-955e-32162d0a9b38
* Page 15 of 189 of the amendment includes the Public Comments and Responses.
* The CES Waiver has NOT been submitted for Arkansas General Assembly review at this time. DDS wants to ensure that they send forward a waiver for legislative review that is closer to final approval from CMS.
* The changes to services included in this amendment are outlined in the presentation slides included in the original post shared here
We will continue to keep you updated with information we receive regarding the CES Waiver Amendment.
