Livonia City F.C. looks to build off a strong 2019 season

After Livonia City traveled the country playing the very best Non-league football had to offer LCFC learned it could play with anyone. The Livonia City Women’s team came up just short falling in the State Cup Finals to a strong North Oakland Soccer Team. With big plans for 2019 we will see increased exposure for the club when we switch our women’s team to the MPSL Women’s Division.

The men’s team went to Kentucky in August where they were crowned USASA Region 2 Champions. They then went down to Florida to represent the state of Michigan and placed 3rd at the National Tournament. This all helped prepare them for a deep Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup run. Knocking out first Ann Arbor FC and then Aurora Borealis from Illinois in round 2. We then hosted St. Louis in the biggest match in club history. A live stream, matchday tickets sold and followers across the country saw an estimated 2,000 people follow the match live. Unfortunately City fell 7-6 in pk’s after 120 minutes of scoreless but entertaining soccer. St Louis Marista advanced we were left wanting more for the following season.

Both the Men’s and Women’s teams are going to play in bigger matches, bigger events and find themselves with every chance they could imagine to make a mark in the world of football. Both the men’s and women’s teams are searching for more players, coaches, volunteers of all types to bring the club to the next level.
