I have been doing CrossFit since 2004 and a former regional level competitor (2010 - 2013). I am a CrossFit Level 1 trainer (soon to be Level 2) and also a Pregnancy and Postpartum Athleticism Specialist. After having my second son I decided to change careers from a high school English teacher of 12 years, to a pregnancy and postpartum athleticism trainer. I never thought I would change careers; h
It all started in 2014 with the birth of my first son.

Happy 41 to the one and only !
While we are only 6 months apart and it feels like we are pretty much the same age…..
Last year when I was 40 before he was… he sure liked to make a lot of jokes🤦🏻♀️😂
But the joke was on him when I turned 21, went out to party with my friends, and was returned to his frat room just in time to puke in his bed😂😂😂😳
Lots of ups and downs over the last 22 years, whether it was in our own relationship ( figuring out long distance relationship, moving, having babies, and more) or outside things like career changes and losing Jared’s parents.
It isn’t always easy but I feel so lucky and blessed to be with someone committed to living this life together and pushing each other to be better in our careers, better parents, & better spouses.

Does time feel INSANE to anyone else?!
It’s almost like I can’t get a handle on it because it goes so fast!!!

Earlier this year I remember telling my best friend that it is all over once they start kindergarten.
This was awful of me to say as she was already emotional because her oldest was getting ready to start! 😂🤦🏻♀️🥴😭🥺

Toxic messaging stems from either ignorance or motivation to sell a product.
I used to be ignorant once, too - so I am not calling anyone names💜 I know people mean well💜
However, I do also know that some people/companies sell programs 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬𝙞𝙣𝙜 it is based on lies while preying on women’s vulnerabilities. So, I WILL call those people some choice names😒
Any program can help a woman with a mild case. However, there are more women out there than you might think with severe cases like mine.
⚠️ So, now it’s my job to warn people about both the ignorance and the evil out there surrounding messaging.
𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿: Aesthetics are only controllable to a point.
❌ Making promises on how they will look if they do x, y, or z is wrong.
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲? Strength & Function.
❌ So, telling them/ treating them like they are broken is wrong, too.
𝗪𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗗 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗙𝗘𝗘𝗟 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆.
Not everyone can afford surgery, wants surgery, or is able to get surgery for a variety of reasons! So let’s empower them in the body they have RIGHT NOW!

It’s the CrossFit Open. For those of you in the CrossFit world, it can be a very special time. So, there can be major FOMO.
𝘽𝙪𝙩 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙩𝙝 𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚, 𝙤𝙣𝙡𝙮 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙬𝙚𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙧.
Once I realized this lesson myself, I came up with this phrase.
✅ It takes strength to step back.
✅ It takes strength to keep perspective.
✅ It takes strength to think about the future rather than the present.
✅ Be strong and secure enough to make the right choice for your pregnant or postpartum body for the Open 2022 and any other workouts this year.
✅ Lifetime athleticism goals rather than short term ego.
The athleticism you’ve built up over the years stays with you even in the off seasons💜💪🏻 I know it can be hard to trust that, but I promise you it does.
Week 1 of the Open is coming to a close!
My gym had a western theme🤠 for 22.1 and I busted out my 2010 Games gear to celebrate!
When I was competing, I had to learn how to deal with 5 weeks of the absolute insane stress of doing well enough in the Open to make Regionals. Re-doing workouts and all of it!
These days I still get nervous, but it’s so much more fun without the added stress!
I am VERY grateful for both of these chapters in my life!
And, I’ve got a reel coming tomorrow about the pregnancy & postpartum chapter💜😉
English Major here💁🏻♀️ for the purpose of teaching high school.
But now all I do is write for my business! 💜⌨️💜I never could have even imagined this years ago, but I am so very grateful for all of it.
Running into the week excited I signed up for Fresh Coast Games with my 8 Mile MissFitz ladies but also terrified I am actually going to have to swim in the water this year rather than run.
Cheers to pushing that comfort zone😉🏊🏻♀️

These boys make me love Valentine’s Day. They celebrated at school since they are off Monday, and watching the pure joy and excitement as they opened their stuff was the BEST!
Then, I had one of those punch you in the gut mom moments when I realized in just a few years they might not be this excited or have as many Valentine parties at school💔.
I am not the biggest baby person, and I really LOVE these ages ( 5 & 7) and want to stop time right now. Motherhood is such a damn ride😭💜😍
