Hospitality Management is offered as a Bachelor of Science degree at California State University, Long Beach. It is designed to prepare students with the necessary background and expertise to excel as managers and leaders in various segments of the hospitality industry including restaurants, foodservices, hotels and lodging facilities. The program provides a broad-based foundation in both academic and professional courses and includes hands-on practical experience.
What an INCREDIBLE event we had last night at the !!!
The Hospitality Management Program, in partnership with Zen Garden Events, hosted the most beautiful Wine & Culinary Excellence Event to showcase the students in our program, their capabilities, and of course some amazing wine. Students from our Event Management and Beverage Management courses stole the show once again!
Thank you to for the wine and to Dr. Ortiz, our resident sommelier, for leading the wine tasting session for our guests.
Well done by everyone involved in making this event such a great success! We couldn't be more proud of our students. Thank you to for continually supporting our program and our students! We're already looking forward to next semester's event.

Our Beverage Management students got to learn all about Spirits from mixologist and Director of the , Dane Olson, yesterday!
He gave an amazing presentation on the history of each spirit and provided our students with the opportunity to taste the differences between each of them. They are now well equipped with knowledge that they can apply to their careers in the food and beverage industry.

Congratulations to three of our Hospitality Management students (Ephraim, Sarah, and Manny) who received the California Lodging Industry Association (CLIA) scholarship this year!
It was the first time in CLIA history that all scholarship award winners were current CSULB hospitality students! We're so proud of them!

Professor Highlight with Doctor Gustin who teaches both HM 276 and 370. The Hospitslity industry homes so many different career opportunities that it can be hard to find ones own path however, Dr. Gustin explains it is within this open field that one is able to forge their own path to self discovery and career success.
Last week, one of our Hospitality Management students, Floyd, had the opportunity to attend the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) expo in Florida!
He got to travel with students from all over the country who are interested in advancing in the attractions industry. He was exposed to trends, the newest technology, and professionals in the industry.
IAAPA connects companies of all sizes, and people of all levels, to provide meaningful experiences for their guests around the world.

Last night, two of them represented CSULB at the awards gala in San Francisco. Manny had the opportunity to give a speech on what the scholarship means to him. What a wonderful celebration!
