All wines are dry farmed with horse and plow and only use indigenous yeast.

Longaví, meaning ‘serpent head’, is inspired by the spirit and legends of two continents. The name derives from a volcanic stratum called Nevado de Longaví located in the Maule region of Chile.

We are half way through the month and wanted to highlight and give a shout out to one of our new favorite wine producers, Ram Cellars from Portland, Oregon.

Winemaker & owner of Ram Cellars, Vivianne Kennedy, has created one of our must have skin-contact wines for Summer 2024: Ram Cellar’s Orange Fraîche. 22 days whole cluster skin contact of 100% Riesling grown in Columbia Valley, Washington is aged 2 months in stainless steel & neutral French oak barrels. This wine is fresh, aromatic with tangerine, jasmine, lemongrass, cantaloupe, fresh snow, elderflower, candied orange peel and starfruit. With mouthwatering zesty acidity and dusty soft tannins on the finish, this wine is perfect for a summer’s day outside on our patio! Seriously, we are obsessed with this wine! ✨

About the Winemaker: “Winemaking for Vivianne Kennedy, owner of Ram Cellars, prioritizes community within the wine industry as much as what’s in the bottle itself. Her wines are full of life and spirit, wrapped in beautifully bracing acidity that emphasizes the wonder of the cool climate Columbia Valley. As a q***r and trans-owned winery, she ensures her work also aids in creating a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community. Just one of the ways is by donating $3 per bottle of her Viv label to non-profits who provide support for the q***r and transgender community (the 2022 vintage is partnered with Trans Lifeline). The name Viv was chosen not just as the shorthand for Vivianne, but also to symbolize the celebration of life, as borrowed from the French word vivre. Winemaker Notes: Tinpot Huts owner and operator Fiona Turner began developing her Blind River Home Block” vineyard in Marlborough’s Awatere Valley with husband Hamish in
2005. Now, Fully Mature, the Home Blocks Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Reisling, and Chardonnay are the foundation of Tinpot Hut wines today.

Dedicated to quality production, Fiona oversees every step of their wines - from vine to bottle.
Inspired by the sheep farming origins of her own Home Block vineyard, winemaker Fiona named her range of wines after the historic “Tinpot Hut” ; a Marlborough landmark frequented by local high country sheep herders. Nestled between the Awatere and Wairau Valleys, the Tinpot Hut symbolizes the history of agriculture in the region and reflects its evolution from a sheep farming heartland to one of the world’s most dynamic wine regions.
