Discovery School
Located on 2.5 acres in Tarzana, California, Discovery School provides and loving and safe environment for children ages 16 months - 6 years of age.
This Friday completed our 9-week Summer Camp program. The children enjoyed all sorts of activities such as water play in the pool, creative art sessions, collaborative sports games, and singing along to our many different camp songs. Best of all, we’ve all made new friends and created new memories to share with our fall classes! To those of you who will be leaving Discovery School, we wish you all the best this upcoming school year. We will miss you! For those who will be continuing, we look forward to another wonderful year. We want to thank everyone for joining us this summer. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed teaching your children and take tremendous pride in helping shape the people they will grow to be.
Ahoy, Maties! Avast, ye and take a gander at week 6's fun photos! We had the best time at our foam party with and their giant blue blocks! Our little buckos ventured into the seas dressed up as pirates for the day. Weigh the anchor and hoist the mizzen! On to week 7 we go!!
We're always having fun at Discovery School Camp!! Wednesday was such an incredible experience. The children learned about reptiles and even had a chance to pet a lizard! On Friday we brought sea shells from home and shared with our class.
Week 3 was so much fun! The children had a 4th of July parade on Monday to celebrate our nation and saw a scientist perform experiments on Wednesday. Lastly, on Friday the children enjoyed a hula show and participated in a hula dance!

We are through our second week of summer camp and the children are having an amazing time. We are swimming, playing in the water tables, engaging in sports, and creating art, all while making new friends.
This week learned about whales and dolphins and had a wacky “Backwards Day” where we wore all our clothes inside out and backwards!
Discovery School Summer Camp is finally here! This years camp theme is “Commotion in the Ocean!” This week the children had fun playing with the Pump and Splash and for spirit day we put on our best “Ocean Blue” outfits.

Spring has finally arrived and with the warmer weather we can finally enjoy a wonderful time outside! Our entire week was dedicated to celebrating Earth Day. The children helped spread nature throughout Discovery School by planting various vegetables, flowers, and herbs. Then we wrapped up the week by having our annual Spring Parade followed by our Earth Day festival.
After a week off for Spring Break, we’re back and full of fun events. This Thursday the school had a puppy visit and on Friday the children learned and celebrated Ramadan with our parent volunteers!

This week we celebrated Valentine’s Day! Valentine’s Day is such a special holiday where we celebrate friendships and the ones we love. On February 15th, we all came together to ring in 100th day of school by having a Trike-A-Thon, raising money for St. Jude's hospital and their fight against childhood cancer. Thank you to everyone who help us reach our goal!

Today was Discovery School’s Annual Holiday Show! The children enjoyed learning their songs, making their costumes, designing crafts for our stage, and performing for their families. Watching the children get ready for their performance was certainly a treat; their smiling faces say it all. We want to thank everyone for coming to our Holiday Show and hope everyone enjoyed the performances!

Aaaaaaaaand we’re coming into the Seventh-inning stretch! Week 7’s theme was “Shopping at Big Five/Foot Locker.” We had so much fun with sports, exercise and movement. We had the pleasure of having Miss Melodee visit us at camp with an immersive dance performance and an interactive workshop for the children.
We’re so happy to have Miss Melodee Studios visit camp today! The children had so much fun dancing!
Week 6 of summer camp was super fun! We had the pleasure of having Blue Planet for Kids come and bring their amazing giant blocks for the kids to build! The kids got to build incredible structures and finished the day off with a foam party!
This weeks theme was “Shopping at Armstrong Garden Center.” The children brought plants to camp and helped make our campus gardens so beautiful! For this week’s special entertainment we got the chance to learn about sea creatures from the ! The children got to hold and pet some of their favorite small sea creatures!
This week's camp theme was “Shopping at Petco.” We had the pleasure of a puppy show! All the children had so much fun petting and playing with the sweet little pups. Keeping with our "AWW"some theme, some of the children dressed up as their favorite animals this Friday to celebrate!
