It’s very important to choose the right filler material to use for the lips or any area of the face. Also the injector needs to have the knowledge and expertise to use the filler material in the appropriate areas of the face and depth of the skin.
This beautiful young lady had fillers placed in her upper lip by a nurse injector about five years ago and the left side became swollen and uneven. The material to dissolve the filler or time did not resolve the asymmetry. So she walked around with the uneven upper lip for about five years.
In this case after a debulking initial procedure followed by two smaller corrective procedures we were able to get the upper lip almost back to normal shape and symmetry.

Saw this patient 2 weeks postop (fracture treated by a colleague) and I thought I should post it to show how dangerous the electric scooters could be. Patient fell off the scooter hitting a curb. The lower jaw was fractured in three areas and one front tooth may need to be removed.
