All it took for Governor Shapiro of Pennsylvania to undo a 30-year rodeo ban and allow animal abuse was a $22,000 payment to a lobbyist firm by the Professional Bull Riders (PBR). Is this the price of animal suffering?
Pennsylvania's new state budget has overturned local rodeo bans, specifically, Pittsburgh's, which banned the rodeo more than 30 years ago. (Read the article in our linktree)
The article states that PBR backed the measure, "PBR paid the firm more than $22,000 to bend legislatorsā ears between May 2023 ā when it registered to lobby ā and March 2024, according to Pennsylvania Department of State records."
WE ARE SICKENED BY THIS NEWS!
PBR lobbyists work in the shadows, pushing their agenda for animal abuse and undermining voters. Besides Pennsylvania, PBR is also busy lurking in Los Angeles trying to sabotage the proposed rodeo ban. We won't let PBR push their corporate agenda of animal abuse and WE WON'T STOP FIGHTING FOR THE ANIMALS.

OUR SOUTH KOREA CHICKEN INVESTIGATION IS GAINING MOMENTUM
Major South Korean media outlets, MBC, JTBC, and SBS, covered the investigation release and the protest that was held in Seoul. Over 30 media outlets reported on the investigation and over 100 news articles were published.
On Monday, LCA/ALW held a large demonstration in Seoul that was attended by over 80 activists. The protest commemorated the 30 million chickens killed during Boknal - Koreaās hot summer days - for the traditional chicken soup, called Samgyetang.
The protest also raised awareness for the new undercover investigation that exposes the suffering of chickens farmed for Samgyetang. The protestors called for Boknal to transition to a culture without animal suffering.

These bulls are completely panicked and terrified, running through the narrow streets of Pamplona, crashing into buildings, slipping on the streets and hit by sticks by festival goers.
The festival ends this weekend with the brutal Bull Fighting spectacle, where the bulls are tortured and stabbed relentlessly to the cheers of a bloodthirsty audience.
While Colombia has recently joined many other countries in voting to ban Bull Fighting, there are still countries where this is still legal such as Spain, France, Portugal, Peru, Ecuador, and Mexico

Keep your furry friends safe with these Pet Safety Tips
1 - Make a plan for July 4th based on your pets needs. Each animal has their own way of coping with anxiety and fear.
2 - Create a calm environment for your pets during July 4th festivities. Ensure your furry companion has a space in your home where they feel safe, like a crate or a favorite room. Play calming music and dim the lights.
3 - Keep you pets away from any fireworks display.
4 - Make sure your pet has up-to-date identification and have a current license, ID tag, or microchip, in case they escape from home.
5 - Look for lost pets immediately. Tell all your neighbors, post a photo and description of your pet at your vets office and local supermarkets and be sure to use social media to spread the word

We are sad to announce that today marks the opening of Marineland Canada for it's 2024 Season. Pictured is the famous orca Keiko. Keiko was wild captured near Iceland in 1979. He was trafficked to Marineland Canada in 1982 where he was forced into public performances. During his miserable time at Marineland, he suffered from skin lesions and was bullied by other orcas, before being trafficked to another theme park in Mexico.
Thankfully, Canada has taken steps to phase out future whales and dolphins in captivity, but the U.S. has not - which is why we are asking U.S. residents to by supporting the . The Strengthening Welfare in Marine Settings (SWIMS) Act aims to end the future capture and breeding of whales for public display.
There are still approximately 50 whales currently held in captivity across the United States with few federal laws protecting them. The suffering of whales in captivity is cruel and unacceptable.
Tell Congress to support the SWIMS Act and let's finally put an end to the exploitation of orcas, beluga whales, pilot whales, and false killer whales.

- Only 6% of the worldās surface is covered by tropical rainforests, yet they contain more than half of all known plant and animal species. The Congo Basin, the home of Virunga National Park, has the largest area of tropical rainforest in all of Africa, allowing it to support the continentās largest abundance of biodiversity.
LCA provides critical support and equipment to the Rangers in the Congo's Virunga National Park - in their anti-poaching efforts through their Air Wing program. Due to political instability, poaching, and illegal oil exploration, over 150 rangers in the Park have been killed in the last decade.
The rangers live and work in life-threatening conditions protecting the mountain gorillas and all other wildlife in the park. Measuring over 3,000 square miles, Virunga extends over varied terrain and has limited capacity to deploy rangers to every corner of the park on short notice. Virunga's Air Wing program provides the best possible tool to secure the park and reduce threats to Virunga's wildlife populations.

Rodeos, and stand-alone bull riding events, glorify animal abuse while they they masquerade as sport and family entertainment. Rodeos force horses and bulls to buck beyond their natural capacity. These are terrified animals trying to get away from something that is causing them fear, pain, and discomfort. Animal injuries can be numerous; broken bones, ripped tendons, torn ligaments, and snapped necks. The rodeo industry has been heavily lobbying Councilmembers to vote against the ban, which is why it's important to voice your support for the ban.

Tragically, racehorse Blonde Bombshell's death is the 13th at Santa Anita Park so far in 2024. The total number of racehorses killed this year on California sanctioned racetracks is currently 38. And we're only half way through the year!
These sad and maddening statistics, and those from previous years, can be found on the California Horse Racing Board's website. Visit it today!
Racehorses never consent. Every time horses are loaded into the starting gate, they are unwillingly and unknowingly risking their lives. The horse racing industry is complicit in the never ending cycle of racehorse breeding, abuse, & injuries.
Thousands of thoroughbreds and other horses end up in the slaughter pipeline every year - including spent broodmares who are expected to produce a foal annually. From Santa Anita, these racehorses ādrop in classā and get dumped at Los Alamitos Race Course in Cypress, CA or trafficked out of state.
