✨ Did Sunday’s testimonies light up your day? Our community’s spirit is alive! And guess what? Our Children’s Ministry is on fire with testimonies too! 🔥 One proud parent shared that her son from our children’s ministry is spreading the joy of Jesus to the kids in his neighborhood. Let’s be inspired by their faith and join the movement to share the good news with everyone around us! 🙌

EWLA family, today marks day one of the Antioch Movement’s 3-day fast, dedicated to contending for God’s purposes throughout the world.

We invite you to join us today through Wednesday as we intercede for the nations and our city. We pray that your time of fasting would draw you closer to the heart of God as you intercede.

🕯️✨ Week 2 of Advent is here! 🌟 Last week, we kicked off our Advent series with anticipation and hope for when He comes again. Join us tomorrow as we gather to light the second candle together at our special afternoon service at 4:30 PM. In a world often clouded by darkness and despair, this Advent, we’re centering our focus on the hope found in Jesus and the anticipation of His second coming.

Join us tomorrow for the kickoff of our new sermon series, ‘Come, Lord Jesus.’ Our hope is anchored in the promise of a new heaven and a new earth—where death, mourning, and pain will be no more. A realm where everything is made new.

🌟 Today’s spotlight is on Caleb! 🌟 Over 2 years strong in our community, Caleb is a powerhouse, contributing to both our Children’s Ministry Team (he has led the little ones in worship!) and rocking the keys on our Worship Team. His current anthem? Maverick City’s “God Problems,” a lifeline as he navigates major post-grad life shifts from UCLA this past spring and is currently in a season of learning what it truly means to trust in a steadfast God.

What encourages Caleb about our church? Read below in his own words:

“I really grew to love the people at our church. Seeing the personal details of what living life alongside Jesus in different seasons and obedience helped me form my own goals and values. I got help from various individuals at EWLA at critical times in these last couple years and appreciate our culture for not being satisfied with mundane Christianity but actually reflecting on how the Bible changes our daily rhythms. Hearing testimonies during service and the level of financial generosity has opened my eyes to how great God really is and answers prayers.”

Meet the dynamic duo, Ben and Becca! 🌟 They’ve been part of our family for a year and a half now. Ben greets with a smile, and Becca explores with the kiddos in children’s ministry. 🎉 When they’re not with Ainee and Tummy, their furry friends, they enjoy hiking, shopping, and hitting the beach. They’ve expressed, “We are inspired by how God is so generous and patient with us. We are truly blessed to be able to experience him through Epicentre with its loving church community.” 🙏💒 Thank you Ben and Becca for serving our community!

If your heart is heavy with both sorrow and anger, it can be challenging to find the words to pray. Join us in reciting and interceding in a prayer led by Pastor Kathryn.

Our hearts must be with the Jewish people, who have suffered hostility from the world over millennia. Our hearts must also be with the Palestinian people who are, as we speak, being slaughtered by the powers of hostility. Our hearts must be with all people while condemning the horrific acts of those in earthly power on both sides.

Let us pray that the world will step onto the path of peace, a road paved by the cross

Q: What do you do/what are you passionate about?
A: I'm a Registered Dietitian! God has given me a passion for working with individuals and communities to address root causes of health issues - using food and nutrition to empower people to flourish. At the same time creating environments where people can be healthy - addressing food insecurity and food waste.

Q: What do you enjoy doing for fun?
A: I love going to the beach, hiking, and watching an embarrassing number of K-dramas :) 

Q: What encourages or inspires you about God or our church?
A: I've been reflecting on how God's heart is for everyone - all are welcome in the kingdom of God with open arms, no exceptions. When I first started coming to Epicentre a little over a year ago I noticed this is the kind of culture Epicentre cultivates as well. I'm grateful to be a part of a church that embraces people and meets them where they're at.
