Divya Choudhary, a masterβs student in data science, kicked off 2020 with a dream summer internship offer focusing on her interest in deep learning and advanced natural language processing. On April 9, however, her internship was cancelled. Divya responded by tapping into her professional network and secured another offer just twelve days later.

A: As Assistant Director, I meet with students to discuss career exploration, job search, interview preparation, salary negotiation and evaluating job offers. I am knowledgeable about the needs and concerns of international students, and I also run the Viterbi Career Ambassadors Program.

Q: What is one reason why you love working in career services?
A: I love being a part of a studentβs professional growth journey. It is wonderful to see students who maybe nervous and worried turn into confident, talented individuals ready to utilize their knowledge and skills to make our world a better place.

A: My current past time while working from home is taking my dog for multiple walks everyday.

Q: What is your role in the office?
A: As the Marketing & Communications intern, I'm responsible for managing our communications channels such as the VCC website, social media accounts, blog and newsletter. I also design flyers and other graphics for the office.
Q: What are you studying?
A: Master's in strategic public relations
Q: What is your favorite place to eat near USC?
A: Chick-fil-a. You can get free sandwiches, nuggets and fries through the Pocket Points app!
Q: What is your current past time while being remote?
A: I recently signed up for an introduction to coding class. I'm learning the basic concepts now and will move on to learning Python after I finish the introductory course.
Q: What advice do you have for current USC students?
A: Take advantage of all the incredible people you meet on campus. Your professors, guest speakers and classmates can form a valuable part of your professional network, but you need to put in the effort to make it happen.

A: Duke Blue - my undergrad's school color!
