Seeking a somatic therapist referral for a client of mine. She is motivated, insightful and funny. Primary problem includes difficulty being alone due to health issues. I am leaving Optum so this therapist must be in-network.
I'm pleased to announce that I am officially certified as an EMDR therapist. It is an excellent way to heal from the effects of trauma.

National Su***de Prevention Lifeline ➡️ 988
Today is the launch of 988. Call, chat, or text this number to speak with a trained counselor to help you through a mental health crisis - even if you’re not sure whether or not you’re in a “crisis.” These counselors are trained to intervene to help prevent su***de, but also to listen when people need help. They can connect you with local resources for follow up care.
I have a few favors to ask:
❤️ tell everyone you know. Even when you see something all over social media, that doesn’t mean the info is flowing to everyone who might need it in the US.
❤️ tell your teens about this essential resource. I know, you want them to come to you. I get it. I do, too. But it’s really, really hard to communicate these feelings to someone you love. Really hard. So knowing this resource is available 24/7 is huge.
❤️ In CA public schools, crisis resources are printed on the back of student IDs. If your school isn’t doing this, speak to your PTA, parent board, or admins about it. The more exposure to the resource, they more likely they are to remember to use it.
❤️ talk to your young adults about this resource. The young adult population, including college students, needs care right now.
It’s always important to remember that the appearance of strength, competence, and/or success does NOT mean that a human of any age is fine and not struggling internally in some way. Check on your people.
Pass it on.
xo

Op-Ed: 1 in 4 adults are estranged from family and paying a psychological price A social media fad urges young adults to 'cancel' their parents. As a psychoanalyst, I see the unanticipated toll.
