Our many projects are our attempt to live the Rotary motto of "Service Above Self." Rotary International is a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders that provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and helps build goodwill and peace in the world. Approximately 1.2 million Rotarians belong to more than 32,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas.

Seth is a Senior Astronomer at the SETI Institute in Mountain View working on humanity’s quest to understand the origins and prevalence of life in the universe. We meet Tuesdays. 12 for socializing, 12:30 for the club meeting, 1 for the guest speaker.

Today Rotarians volunteered to help kids shop for much-needed back to school clothes in partnership with West Valley Services. We love to see these kids get the dignity of picking out their own things at Old Navy. One of our favorite annual service projects! 🛍️
We are People of Action! Do you know how much service the Rotary Club of Los Gatos does in a year? Here are some of the things we did as a club in our '23-'24 year (not including our grant giving):
- providing breakfast to St Lukes shelter every Tuesday
- running a blood drive with the Red Cross
- filling backpacks for kids in need at Pacific Clinics
- filling backpacks for kids in need with West Valley Services
- donating and packing essential supplies for Pajaro flood victims
- donating to local rotary efforts to help in Maui after the fire
- maintaining a planter box on N Santa Cruz
- bringing toys for the Toys for Tots program
- volunteering at Los Gatos Wine Walk
- packing meals with Rise Against Hunger
- taking kids back-to-school shopping with West Valley Services
- volunteering at the Maruichi bocce ball fundraiser
- serving a Thanksgiving meal at Live Oak Kitchen
- painting and repairing a home with Rebuilding Together
- assembling care packages for longterm hospital patients with El Camino Health
- volunteering at House of Hope
- writing encouraging notes to cancer patients with Cancer CarePoint
- donating essential supplies for refugees with Jewish Family Services
- assembling care kits for seniors in need with SourceWise
- volunteering countless hours with all our youth programs such as Interact, ELC, RYLA, and the Los Gatos Boy Scouts
- monthly clean up at Los Gatos parks

We are sad to share the news that Tony James passed away. A member of Los Gatos Rotary since 2009 and our president in 2016-17, Tony was a warm, kind, and gentlemanly person. He was consistently first in line to give service where needed. We will miss him dearly.

Today in our club meeting we wrote cards of encouragement for , a great organization we are proud to support year after year. Cancer has touched every one of us in some form. Thank you Cancer Carepoint for the good you do.
Doug Brent took the ‘24-‘25 theme ‘The Magic of Rotary’ to a whole new level at his first meeting as our club president! Just another fun day with Los Gatos Rotarians.

It’s official! We roasted and toasted President Meghan Burton last night and the gavel passed to our new President Doug Brent. Thank you Meghan for your excellent leadership in the ‘23/‘24 year.
Last week the Town of Los Gatos approved our plan to update Live Oak Manor Park! We are so excited to do this for our community. We only turn 100 once! Work will begin this fall. Stay tuned.
We’ve got a scholar from the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies at Stanford coming to speak to us this week. He has also served as deputy director of national intelligence for analysis and as the chairman of the National Intelligence Council among other things. I bet he has some stories…
