TASTE OF LOS GATOS is an end-of-summer street festival on N. Santa Cruz Avenue in downtown Los Gatos. N. Santa Cruz will be closed from Main Street to Bachman Avenue and open to pedestrians only. The event is free and open to all. For tastes, attendees can purchase a $45 wristband which gives access to delicious tastings served by numerous participating restaurants. Attendees may also purchase wine and beer separately at our wine & beer booths.

Submission Deadline: Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 4pm
Award Amount: The selected artist will receive a $500 prize. In the event that multiple artists are selected (up to 4 artists), each artist will receive a $300 prize.

The Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce (Chamber) is seeking local artists to submit artwork designs for a new series of Los Gatos street pole banners to be installed mid to late Spring, 2024. The theme of this banner series is "You Belong in Los Gatos"

With our new banners, featuring artwork from the community, paired with the theme, “You Belong in Los Gatos”, we hope to build pride in residents, welcome visitors, and foster a sense of belonging and meaningful connection here in our beautiful town of Los Gatos!

Guidelines for Submissions:
-Artist must reside, work, or attend high school in Los Gatos.
-The banner theme is “You Belong in Los Gatos.” The Chamber will be placing the text “You Belong in Los Gatos” over your design when producing the banner. The text will be large so as to be visible from the street. Plan for this text overlay in your design.
-Banner designs can include up to 3-4 design variations that would alternate along the street. Variations are not required.
-Selected artwork will be professionally printed on either 60” x 30” OR 93” x 29” banners and will hang vertically. For the contest, designs should be created for the 60” x 30” specs.
-Designs should be suitably bold so as to be visible from a distance.
-Designs should include at least one color (as opposed to only black and white).
-Do not include your signature or initials in the artwork.
-Do not use portraits of specific individuals.
-Artwork must be original.
-Designs containing images that are offensive in nature will not be accepted.
-Submissions must be in a high-quality PDF or SVG format, suitable for printing to the 60” x 30” specs.
Artists may submit up to two designs.

To Apply:
-Submit your artwork via Google Form (please request a link by emailing [email protected]) no later than Thursday February 29th 4pm.
-A completed, signed Permission, Statements and Release Form (please request a link by emailing [email protected]) will be required at the submission of artwork.
-If the artist is under the age of 18, the permission statement must also be signed by a parent or guardian.

Selection Process:
The selection committee, consisting of the Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce staff and select leaders from the Town of Los Gatos, will review all submissions that are received by February 29, 2024. The committee reserves the right to reject any and all submissions. Selected artist(s) will be notified by March 15, 2024 via email.

The Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce will have the right to use all artwork submitted, with credit given to the artists. Final winning artwork will be printed on street pole banners, and other art submissions may be used in other Chamber and Visit Los Gatos materials.

We will also get to hear tips from Courtney Johnson, the Club’s nutritionist.

Finally, Dr. Bradford Perkins of Transform Wellness Clinic will share thoughts about the importance of sleep to health and wellness.

The Billy Jones Wildcat Railroad is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1968. Both the railroad and W.E. “Bill” Mason Carousel exist as a legacy of Billy Jones and as a means to preserve history and entertain the public. All proceeds and donations go to perpetuating the railroad and carousel, as well as maintaining our ability to provide historical and entertaining recreation for persons of all ages. Every penny made goes into preserving this gem in Los Gatos.

The Billy Jones Wildcat Railroad is committed to providing a great experience to children and adults alike. Ride aboard a real steam engine as it goes through beautiful Oak Meadow and Vasona Parks. Go round and round on 106 year-old carousel. The Billy Jones Wildcat Railroad has rides, food, and most importantly fun!
