Disaster Relief Ministry "Bringing Help, Hope, and Healing"

Volunteers can staff feeding units designed to deliver thousands of hot meals on short notice; move in with chainsaws to help remove debris; do the dirty work of helping families remove mud from flooded homes; and provide many other disaster relief services.

Kentucky Baptist Disaster Relief is on ALERT status following the 16 reported tornadoes yesterday throughout the Midwest and the predicted tornadoes over the next couple of days. Texas has also experienced extreme flooding. KYDR volunteers, an email with more information will be sent soon.
Continue to pray for those affected by the recent tornados in the Midwest. Current status for KYDR is STAND DOWN.

KYDR flood recovery team thankful to avoid muddy mess — this time MARTINSVILLE, W.Va. (KT) – Kentucky Baptist Disaster Relief volunteers wade into flood situations not knowing what to expect.
Sometimes we get so inward occupied that we miss outward opportunities.
We are so grateful for the partnership between KYDR and KY WMU! Y’all are amazing!! With our new shower units, the WMU is providing towel sets to stock our trailers. This is just the beginning I’m told!! More are on the way! Thank you, thank you! We had “Ada” our newest unit with the handicapped accessible (ADA) unit on display at the WMU in Hopkinsville.
KYDR Region 4 is on STANDBY status for deployment to Prospect, KY following last week's tornado. Please be praying for the chainsaw team and the people they will encounter.
UPDATE: WV had experience more flooding and additional KYDR volunteers are needed. KYDR is on GO status for deployment to West Virginia following recent flooding. Please be praying for our volunteers and the homeowners they will be ministering to.
Over 50 KYDR volunteers (and some from Ohio DR) spent 2 long days for the first Incident Management Team training. We have some amazing volunteers ready and willing to bring help, hope, and healing to those in crisis.
After waiting for nearly 2 years, we finally have our Cummins 150 kw generator. God has blessed the KYDR ministry and we are very grateful for His amazing provision. Many times all you can say is, “Wow! That’s God!”

Today marks 40 years of Kentucky Baptist Disaster Relief. We are so thankful for the many men and women who volunteered to make this ministry a reality, and to the many who have worked tirelessly to bring Help, Hope, and Healing to those in crisis.
More hay heading to Texas. We are so grateful for many who have made this happen. We are thankful for the partnership with Salvation Army to assist with a couple of loads from Brandenburg, KY.

Shower Unit response to Ohio is on STAND DOWN status.
KYDR continues to deliver hay to Texas to share HELP, HOPE, and HEALING to those in crisis following the devastating wildfires. I am so thankful for the generosity of Kentuckians all over to donate nearly 400 bales of hay. Many volunteers have helped make this effort a reality.
Others may not have hay to donate, but it is very expensive to deliver hay so far away. Pray how you may give to help support this effort. You can give by visiting kybaptist.org/dr.
Our shower/laundry team arrived today in Lakeview, OH. They will be providing showers to Ohio Baptist Disaster Relief volunteers working in the area. Please pray for the community of Lakeview as they begin to recover and for the volunteers bringing Help, Hope, and Healing.
So much excitement and many brand new volunteers at the Region 2 disaster relief training in Madisonville. We welcome all those to the KYDR family. Serving together as we bring help, hope, and healing to those who are hurting.

First load of 6 bales of hay delivered safely to Texas over the weekend. Thankful for Lanny Fisk for donating the hay and Roger Devine and Roger Campbell for making this trip. Farmers from Franklin, KY have gathered over 60 bales. First load of 32 left this morning, partnering with Tennessee Baptist Disaster Relief.
Over 65,000 head of cattle impacted by the fire in Texas.
In every disaster, specific needs arise. Right now, there's a big need for hay, and TBM: Texans on Mission is working on this in different ways. See the graphic!
