REMEMBERING AMY O ON CINCO DE MAYO
Los Hermanos Familia is proud to announce that the 2024 Cinco de Mayo Parade of Lubbock is dedicated to our buen amiga, the late Lubbock DJ Amy ORadio who died in a motorcycle crash this weekend.

We are designating it as Cinco de Amy O!
She was a dear FRIEND & ADVOCATE!

Amy O was also a personality who lived to the fullest and brought joy, music, and much laughter to our homes and offices as she gave life to the Lubbock airwaves on 104.9 The Beat

"AMy O was our friend and our advocate and always promoted our events and partnered with Los Hermanos Familia because she believed in us, and we believed in her," said Christy Martinez-Garcia, President and Founder of Los Hermanos Familia.

Just days before her death they had spoken and had scheduled an interview to discuss the Cinco de Mayo Parade that Amy O and 104.9 The Beat were sponsors.

Lubbock was blessed by her in so many ways, and we will all miss her and feel her absence. And that's why we proudly dedicate this year's Cinco de Mayo Parade of Lubbock as the 2024 Cinco de Amy O Parade of Lubbock!

The parade will take place on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 10 a.m., down historic Broadway, heading East to Ave. M to the Civic Center East parking lot!
Bring your lawn chairs, bags for candy, and anything for a comfortable morning!

Finally, the Detroit Lift Station contractor (UCA) has made a clearing on one side of the road for through traffic.
Hopefully, this will help for now. The good thing is that the project is near completion and residents of Arnett Benson will have updated infrastructure that will also improve their service!

Thank you to the Public Works Department for their attention to this. As well as to the residents for keeping me updated.

Remember, if you see something - say something. This is how we become aware of concerns and can act on them.

As a reminder, District 1 needs representatives to serve on various City Boards. Be a part of the solution. Please apply at www.mylubbock.us/cityboards
