Toasters Club is a Toastmasters club that meets every Thursday morning at 7:00am except for holidays.
Boy have we had a busy season for new members! “Icebreakers” are the first speeches a new member gives. Toasters awards a pin after the first speech given as a “Congratulations!” for being brave with the first speech.

Proud of one of our newest members, Mary Hernandez! Mary joined Toasters with the goal of improving her speaking skills in anticipation of her campaign for County Commissioner.

First speeches are called ”Icebreakers”. They are the most nerve wracking speech of all, but the audience has quite the soft spot for them since we get to learn about our newest members. After the completion of the first speech, Toasters gives a pin as a token of congratulations.

Snowball Scoop
The object of the game is to get as many “snowballs” (cotton balls) into your bucket as possible during the allotted amount of time. The facilitator of the game can choose the time (30-60 seconds).
Materials needed:
1) Two buckets
2) Two kitchen spoons or similar scoop
3) A bag of cotton balls
4) Blindfolds
5) A whisk if you want the facilitator to also enforce the no touching rule
Rules:
1) Players must stay blindfolded during the scooping
2) Players may not hold their bucket still with either their hand or their body
3) Players cannot use the bucket to help scoop snowballs
4) Players begin by touching spoons (“On your mark”), and tapping the table with the spoons second (“Get Set”)
5) The player with the most snowballs wins
