Last night, The Lynnwood Food Bank held its first Annual Food is Love Charity event at Fogo de Chão to raise funds for the Lynnwood Food Bank. Thanks to the generosity of Fogo de Chão, and our community, the event was a huge success, with tickets selling out and all proceeds going towards supporting the food bank's efforts. However, the need is ongoing and now more than ever, the Lynnwood Food Bank needs our support to continue their important work.

As we prepare to observe World Food Day tomorrow, let us remember the millions of people who are struggling with food insecurity. This day serves as a reminder of the importance of addressing this global issue and working towards a world where everyone has enough to eat. In these challenging times, with the ongoing pandemic causing even more economic hardship, there are many families who are relying on food banks and assistance programs for their daily meals. This is why it is vital for us to come together and support organizations like the Lynnwood Food Bank, which provides vital resources to those in need in our own community.

The ‘Food is Love Charity Event’ benefitting the Lynnwood Food Bank promises an enjoyable evening filled with Brazilian cuisine, live classical guitar music, and a meaningful discussion about the food bank’s mission and its impact on the community.

The Asian Service Center is sponsoring a free health care seminar on the ins and outs of Medicare Saturday, May 20 from 10:30 a.m. to noon at 22727 Highway 99, Ste. 110, Edmonds.

Presented by Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors (SHIBA), a service of the Washington state Office of the Insurance Commissioner, the seminar will cover Medicare coverage, eligibility and how to apply. The event is open to all community members.
