President Joe Biden is an honored statesman, a champion for working people, and a truly devout public servant. His administration led us out of the COVID-19 pandemic, passed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Act, and fought for historic student debt relief for tens of thousands of Americans. His time in office has helped working families across Wisconsin, and I am proud of the progress that has been made.
The President’s support for the City & County of Milwaukee cannot go unnoticed. His administration worked to bring direct investments into affordable housing & economic development that had a real impact on our neighborhoods. President Biden showed what is possible when we support working families & invest in their needs.
I am thankful for President Biden’s years of service to our country. Because of his hard work, more families are in a better place than they were four years ago. I hope we will build on his record of progress, and continue to support Wisconsin workers, families, and communities.
Wishing everyone a safe and fun weekend 🇺🇸
Happy 4th of July!

Today, legislative Democrats introduced LRB 1335/1 which creates a Paid Family Leave Program in Wisconsin. This proposal would ensure that individuals never have to choose between the health of themselves and their families, and their jobs.
This is a much needed change to create a safety net to allow individuals and families to resume their lives following the birth of a child, or a major illness or injury. The absence of this safeguard disproportionately affects women and people of color. This cannot continue.
I am proud to have co-authored this bill and hope that it makes Wisconsin a place where working families can thrive, not just survive.
I, alongside my Democratic colleagues, signed onto a letter urging Senator Tammy Baldwin to help expand Medicare Part D to cover anti-obesity medications. It is essential for our leaders to protect the health of all Wisconsinites. HHS Medicare

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to honor Officer Kaonnie Whitley as the 2023 First Responder of the Year for the Sensational 16th District. The tremendous amount of time and service he has put into making the district and all of Milwaukee a better place has not gone unnoticed. Not only has Officer Whitley been an asset with MPD for over seven years, but throughout his career, he has also received two lifesaving awards while serving in the U.S. Navy.
