Today, we attended the Student Services Fall Resource Fair, hosted by Transition Education Program - TEP, the Dane County School Social Workers, and the Homeless Education Network. We are so grateful we were invited to participate in this energizing fair, sharing our resources with wonderful Dane County school social workers, counselors, and psychologists. This was a great opportunity to feel a sense of connection and hope in the midst of difficult work. We love our Dane County school community!

We at First Weber know what a great guy Charlie Wills is, and we’re proud and happy for him to be recognized nationally for his efforts in making Dane County a better place to live. Congratulations, Charlie, on being named one of 5 top winners in the National Association of REALTOR’s 2024 Good Neighbor Award. Charlie has won $10,000 for a foundation that he started with a group of friends, 100 Men of Dane County. His goal is to create significance and impact and he’s nailing it!

100 Men of Dane County was organized by the passions of 100 men who donate $4,000 each per year to benefit local non-profit organizations. Each year, the group awards $100,000 per quarter and have given almost $2.5 Million to date.

We applaud Charlie and his co-founders of 100 Men of Dane County for their work and commitment to their neighbors in Dane County.

Well, that's a wrap and possibly the end of an era. We had an absolutely beautiful day for what will be our last Labor Day Dash - for awhile anyway. Thank you to all of our volunteers, participants and sponsors for a lovely event. Safe Harbor needs YOU! Our Labor Day Dash is Monday, September 2nd in Vilas Park and we need volunteers to help this race run smoothly. We also need runners and walkers, but regardless of the size of the race, we need around 50 volunteers each year for this event.

This is a super fun and quick event for a wonderful cause. Safe Harbor is a Child Advocacy Center that works with kids who have been victims of s*xual assault, child abuse, neglect, s*x trafficking or witness to domestic violence/violent crime. We serve over 400 kids and their families each year and this is one of our two fundraising events.

Perks of volunteering & participating: Great coffee, bagels, fruit, snacks, an adorable FREE Tot Trot for the under 6 crowd and the cutest race t-shirts in town!!
