Derek is probably best known for his portrayal of Jason Voorhees in the 2009 reboot of Friday the 13th. Aside from his memorable role as Jason, Mears has appeared in films such as Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, The Hills Have Eyes 2, Predators and Hatchet III. He co starred in Tommy Wirkola's brilliant horror comedy Dead Snow 2: Red or Dead (2014) in which he plays the role of Stavarin, the leader of the reanimated Russian zombies. He has also appeared in many popular TV series like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Twin Peaks, and Sleepy Hollow. He also took on the titular role in the DC Universe television series Swamp Thing in 2019! 🦍King Kong (King Kong): Serkis portrayed the giant ape in Peter Jackson's 2005 film.

🧝‍♀️Smeagol (The Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit): Before becoming Gollum, Serkis portrayed Smeagol, Gollum's innocent alter ego.

💀Supreme Leader Snoke (Star Wars sequel trilogy): Though largely a CGI character, Serkis provided motion capture and voice acting for Snoke, the enigmatic leader of the First Order.

🦾Klaw (Marvel Cinematic Universe): Serkis portrayed Ulysses Klaue, a South African arms dealer with a bionic arm, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

🧙‍♂️The Witch-King of Angmar (The Lord of the Rings): In addition to Gollum, Serkis embodied another iconic villain from the Tolkien universe.
