Yesterday, twenty-six eager students from the Healthcare Explorer Summer Program got a firsthand look at the inner workings of Monmouth Medical Center! From engaging talks in the laboratory to eye-opening presentations on nutrition and public health, these future healthcare professionals are getting a head start on their careers. Monmouth Medical Center sponsors its own Explorer Post and on-site activities during the school year. Thank you to MMC for hosting such an informative and inspiring day! .

The attainment of Eagle Scout, the highest rank in the Scouts BSA program since its establishment in 1911, has been achieved by only four percent of Scouts nationwide. We commemorate the graduating Eagle Class each year and induct a distinguished Eagle into the Monmouth Council Eagle Scout Hall of Fame. This year, we proudly inducted Tom Stackhouse, Class of 1983, Executive Vice President/Chief Credit Officer at Lakeland Bank, and celebrated 163 Eagles who collectively devoted 24,961 service hours. Scouts who attend this program will be learning from experts in their trades through hands-on learning. Each badge represents a unique skill set and learning opportunity. For more than 114 years, our organization has been dedicated to serving the youth of our country. As our country has evolved, so has our organization. The change was made to reflect the organization's ongoing commitment to welcoming every youth in America to experience the benefits of Scouting. The mission of the organization remains the same. Scouting America will continue to prepare youth for lives of purpose and impact, and to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

The 94th MLB All-Star Game will be held at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, on July 16, 2024. The event is part of a week-long celebration that includes the Home Run Derby, Futures Game, and more. On Saturday, we kick-off the first of several Scout Yankee Games. May you rest in peace Frank Borzio, Jr. Dr. Frank Borzio Jr. had a heart attack and passed away quickly and peacefully in the night, at the age of 76. Frank was Den Leader in Pack 210 and an ASM in Troop 110 Lincroft for over 20 years. He worked with his two sons to obtain their Eagle Scout Awards. Frank went on many high adventure trips, Klondike Derbies, campouts and weeks at Forestburg with the troop. Frank earned his Wood Badge Beads and was elected to the OA. He also staffed many IOLS courses covering nature. Frank’s biggest contribution to the Scouts was passing on his love of cooking and nature. He was a great lover of the Dutch oven and one pot meals, always showing the Scouts easier ways of cooking. Older Scouts would pass on stories about Doc showing them where to find blueberries at FSR for their pancakes and the time he found freshwater muscles and added them to the spaghetti on a canoeing trip in Maine. Growing up on a farm and becoming a veterinarian made Frank the perfect plants and animal guy. Walks around his farm and Quail Hill were legendary. Frank not only told you what it was but also if it was edible, usually by eating some on the spot. Frank is survived by his wife Lynn, son Christopher, Christopher’s wife Marion, their children Jackson and Nola, son Robert, Robert’s wife Giana, their children Abrielle and Oliver, Frank’s brothers Raymond and John, and his dogs Bella and Bonnie. In lieu of flowers, it would please Frank that all donations be made to the local Boy Scouts of America Troop, where Frank served and his boys attended, in Lincroft NJ. Last night Monmouth Council held their Annual Meeting and Dinner celebration. The evening began with last year’s achievements and ended with celebrating the passion and commitment that our volunteers have in scouting.
