JOTA/JOTI (The world’s largest digital and radio Scout event promoting friendship and global citizenship)This year, Ken joined us again at Quail Hill with about 75 scouts/cubs and Troop 110 with ASM Steele from Camp Pouch Camporee with 13 scouts. Those who came to Quail Hill talked on the radio and played Morse code games. Ken and company spoke to 7 countries, the furthest being South Africa, and made about 100 contacts and seven other camps stateside. Troop 110 had a chance to operate numerous radios and communicate with various countries and states, the farthest being Islamabad in Pakistan. Scouts discussed the weather, location, favorite camping foods, recipes, eagle projects and general topics. We thank Ken and Steele and all those Scouters who joined them and those who participated from their homes.
We look forward to next year.

Happy Friday the 13th. The fear of Friday the 13th is known as friggatriskaidekaphobia. Fun facts and trivia about Friday the 13th to mark this unlucky, or maybe lucky, day. There is at least one Friday the 13th in every year, and at the most, there are three. The "Friday the 13th" horror film franchise kicked off in 1980 and now has up to 12 sequels. On this day, many people love watching horror movies. Former President Franklin D. Roosevelt never hosted 13 guests at a meal. He also never traveled on the 13th, no matter which day of the week it fell on. Many cities do not have a 13th Street or 13th Avenue. Some hospitals avoid labeling rooms with the number 13, many buildings do not have the 13th floor, and many airports skip gate 13.
