Incredible! Ishpeming Physical Therapist Kristy Kerkela was involved in fitting and ordering this bike for her patient, Alexis! Going the extra mile often involves small, thoughtful gestures that can make a big difference in our patient’s experience and well-being. We are passionate about seeing our patients thrive in and outside our clinic!

In response to patient requests, Active PT Ishpeming is pleased to announce the availability of therapeutic massage at the downtown clinic on Tuesdays. Our massage program is for people looking for a more functional massage experience, and would not be considered a massage intended for relaxation. Jordan Jarvi, an experienced massage therapist who is also a licensed Physical Therapists Assistant, is now booking for 60 and 90 minute appointments. The cost is $80 for a 60 minute session and $110 for a 90 minute session paid at the time of service. To book, please call our office at 906-204-7400 and leave your name and number. Jordan will respond directly to talk about how the program can benefit you and book an appointment. Space is very limited at this time.

The month of June is Men's Health Month. It is a time to raise awareness for boys and men about being proactive about overall health, including mental health, physical well being, and encouraging individuals to visit their doctor for yearly screenings. It is also important to focus on choosing healthy eating habits and improving daily activities through exercise routines, hobbies, and increasing general activity levels. There are numerous studies that show women live longer than men and men are less likely to visit a doctor or discuss symptoms to a primary care physician. Now is the time for all men to take charge of their life and wellness.

Women’s Health Month serves as a reminder to take care of your overall health and make it a priority in your life. This includes seeking medical help when you need it, but it also involves engaging in preventive care to keep you healthy, like scheduling checkups, examinations, vaccinations, living a healthy lifestyle, and more.
It’s been a couple months since the downtown Ishpeming location opened. We’re working on the exterior of the building now, and here’s an updated interior tour. We strive to make our clinics comfortable for our patients and staff. Healthcare doesn’t have to feel intimidating or antiseptic!
