How to achieve a stationary flat lay of your dreams ✨

Creating a stationary flat lay for your wedding day can be a beautiful way to showcase important wedding details.

Here's a list of items to include in your stationary flat lay:

1. Wedding Invitation Suite: Your wedding invitation, along with any accompanying cards such as RSVP cards, accommodation details, and menu cards.

2. Envelopes: Include both the outer and inner envelopes if applicable, with elegant calligraphy or addressing.

3. Save-the-Date: If you sent out save-the-date cards, include one in the flat lay.

4. Ceremony Program: A beautifully designed ceremony program, if you're having one.

Wedding trends are forever changing. One new trend that’s been appealing to couples recently is doing a session AFTER the wedding. Sounds weird, right?? But I’ll tell you why it’s not.

Most wedding packages include services leading up to the wedding day. For example - proposals, engagement sessions, bridals or bo***ir. So there’s a ton of excitement and much to look forward to before the wedding day arrives.

But why must the excitement stop once the wedding day is over?!

Feelin’ so lucky and grateful for the life I’ve made for myself ✨

I started photography with a blind eye. In the beginning, I had no idea what I was doing. All I knew was that I loved taking pictures and I wanted to pursue a career where I can be at home more with my daughter.

Has it been easy? No.
Have I failed? Countless times.
Have I felt like giving up? Absolutely.

Would I trade my job for another? Hell no!

Photography has given me opportunities I would’ve never imagined for myself. The relationships I have made with my clients and colleagues in the industry are irreplaceable. Grateful doesn’t begin to describe how I feel in this moment.

This month marks seven years since photographing my first wedding. Its been seven years of growing, learning, and becoming the person I want to be. And I’m damn proud of that person!

I wish I could say my success has everything to do with luck - but in reality it has everything to do with the pursuit of hardwork, passion, and the innate ability to never give up.

This past weekend was one for the books ✨

I met Brad and Erin through another couple of mine this past Fall. It wasn’t long before Brad contacted me regarding the surprise proposal he had in mind for Erin.

Planning a surprise proposal is no easy task! It’s been months of texting back and forth, lying to Erin (🤭), and arranging the perfect location for all of this to take place.

But we pulled it off! And we couldn’t have done it without the help of their family and friends, for the epic “Marry Me” letters, and my girl for helping me the day of!

It brought tears to my eyes to see everything come together! I’m so excited to photograph these two this year and so lucky they found me as their photographer 🤍

My business goals for 2023 ✨

2022 was the biggest year for my business thus far! It was an absolute whirlwind of weddings, elopements, traveling, and editing. With every year comes new challenges and this year I want to implement everything I learned from 2022 to scale my business even further!

Here are a few of my goals for Alivia Photography in 2023 -

- Work with what I have, where I am… meaning a littleeee less traveling - staying local to Charlotte for the majority of my projects this year is v important to me
- Plan a creative styled shoot for other photographers to attend
- Work with a brand designer to give my website + marketing materials a much needed “facelift”
- OUTSOURCE EDITING (this is a big one)
- Explore other mediums of photography such as Super 8 videos, film, at-home developing and so on
- Master balancing the art of motherhood and being a full time business owner (this is the hardest for me especially during peak season)

I made these goals with intention for me to GROW this year! Spending less time behind a computer screen editing and more time behind my camera being the creative spirit I am. 2023 is going to be a year to remember, I can feel it ♡

For years now, I have worked closely with venue. The owners, Lacey + Chris, are not only two of the sweetest people I know in this industry - but also the most hardworking!

It was truly an honor to be referred to their beautiful niece, Caroline, to photograph her and Nick’s special day! It was a day filled with love and surrounded by family.

Caroline is such a beautiful woman- inside and out. I loved the way Nick gazed at her throughout the day. I couldn’t be happier for the both of them as they embark on this new journey together as husband and wife! 🤍
