The Gesher Fellowship brings together a diverse cohort of open-minded people like you committed to dialogue, community learning, and mutual support.
Our campus has been missing dialogue. This past year, many of us have been wrestling with complicated thoughts and emotions and divisions in our community have been highlighted. “Gesher: Building Bridges” is a Tufts Hillel initiative aimed at facilitating dialogue and bridging the divides within the Jewish community.
Gesher fellows will engage in weekly seminars over 10 weeks to study diverse perspectives on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and related topics through a focus on seeing the other and building bridges while gaining experience facilitating dialogue on these complex issues. We will delve into important themes, including identity, diaspora, humanization, and challenging hate. Guest speakers and representatives from community organizations will bring new ideas and experiences to the course.
This is a student-led fellowship designed for all students—Jewish and non-Jewish but interested alike—committed to shared learning, open to new experiences, and respectful toward diverse voices. Fellows will have the opportunity to explore their own views and the views of their peers in a challenging yet tolerant and respectful environment. The fellowship culminates in the NYC Education Summit where fellows will meet with grassroots and political organizations centered around the conflict.
